He’s an awful in game manager. Terrible with pitchers. It’s true.
He’s one win away from winning it all after numerous decimating injuries, even during the postseason. You have to give him some serious props to get this team where they are and one win away from the world championship. Atlanta had the worst record of any team in the postseason. Give some credit where it is due.

Nailed this take. I've been waiting for this show for so long that there's no way it will live up to what I want but the fundamental changes to the plot and stupid woke BS is probably going to infuriate me and make me feel like Jordan is rolling over in his grave. I also hate the idea of cramming 2000 pages of story into an 8 episode season, but I understand why they have to. Watered down woke shite that loosely resembles my favorite story is what I'm expecting.

I hope HBO converts more fantasy series to shows. They make great series and there is a huge market for it and so many great series. The Gentleman Bastards series would translate well.

The Black Company needs to be made ASAP. It was greenlit then news disappeared.

I am not reading Rothfuss unless he finishes it, I will check out The Iron Druid down the road, thanks for the suggestion, but right now I am four and a half books into my first re-read of the Wheel of Time and my adult onset adhd is killing me. I am struggling to read anything anymore no matter how much I like it.

I will say for those that haven't done it yet..WoT is even better the second time. There are soooo many foreshadowing details that I missed on the first read...Jordan was amazing.
I get it because its definitely frustrating but Rothfuss is great. The delay between book two and three has been so long that I've actually reread the first two a few times now and I think you pick up on more details each time. Great books!

Audiobooks & a desk job helps me get through em.
The Blade Itself trilogy (Joe Abercrombie) is really good. I didn't listen to that one but I did his other books and the narrator was great assuming its the same person.

Also listened to the Dresden Files books this summer. Loved them.

No doubt I do. They play for him, and he’s got loads of talent. But the primary place you see the influence of managers is in pitching management. He’s not good at it. Thankfully for him Wright bailed him out last night

He’s managed that bullpen to where they have been elite this postseason minus one bad inning from Luke. Trust me, I was in the same boat as you for multiple years, and you can look at my posts from the past about it. However, he has stuck by his guns and they have paid huge dividends this postseason.

He actually has done really well this postseason as I posted earlier. But that was a mistake starting the kid last night. Thankfully it didn’t blow up on us

It is extremely tempting because so many have told me the same thing, but I just can not and will not start another series until it is finished.

Hopefully Rothfuss does his job and finishes what he started and this becomes moot...I really do want to read it.

I'm going to let Sanderson get farther into his "Cosmere" and see how great he ties it all together before I start his books too, but from what I know of them, at least I think you can enjoy each of his series as standalone epics in his case.
