I'd happy to take Carter for depth but him committing to Memphis suggests he wants to play early.
How so? Seth Henigan is a freshmen and has started all but one game that he missed with an injury. Seems like that'd be a longer path to playing early.
Cause right now the only way he can't play early at UT is if Hooker returns. If Hendo heads to the draft though the QB competition here next year will be wide open.
I don't think Henigan has really torn it up. He has some big numbers, but he's not really efficient and they haven't played any good defenses outside MS. They also don't have any other QB's committed. He has a chance to compete and win the job right away. He doesn't at UT, and by the time Hooker is gone, he has to battle Tayven and likely an experienced transfer that Heupel hand picked for his offense.
He’s exceptionally busy, usually only has time to post while on the toilet, taking a work break or between sets at the gym and it’s going to get much better. Why hasn’t @nicksjuzunk started the thread yet? Is he mad at us?
Fun fact. The Cubs traded Soler to the Royals for Mike Montgomery, who earned the save in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series.
I'm a Cubs fan, but I still always enjoyed watching all the Braves games with my Pa growing up. He would've loved this team. Glad they got it done. I'll never forget calling out of work to watch that Cards/Braves WC game with him in the hospital because I thought it may be my last chance to enjoy one with him again. Not a great result, but I'll never forget it. Congrats to all the Braves fans.
I'm not sure that we're not very close to being finished on the recruiting front. Won't turn down major impact guys like Nolan but I don't think we'll take guys just to be taking guys. Leaves more spots for portal guys which I think he'll hit hard. JMO
Remember, to use the extra 7 slots we have to have transfers that enter the portal after December 12th. All of the guys that have left thus far do not equal extra slots. I think they'll be some leave but I don't think it will be close to 7.We're at I think 14 commits right now, and we should be able to have a class of up to 32... I think we'll see them take some portal guys, but I'm not sure they wanna take 18.
I'd expect this class to be 18-20 and the rest filled with transfers. But as a new staff with their first real class I wouldn't be surprised at all if they are willing to take some in-state guys that they normally may not. Just to help strength relationships with schools. I don't mean taking people they normally wouldn't but if a kid like Pope or Davis is interested I think they'd rather take them than a similar rated JuCo or Transfer guy.
But I could be wrong. We shall see, they got some really good talent in the last class from the portal so maybe they are comfortable doing that.
