All I will say in rebuttal to that is by that rationale, from the stories of evil you have heralded about your youth, you should be behind those very bars yourself. The Christian would have empathy for all involved. A tragedy at the hands of a fool is still a tragedy. Every part of it sucks. Plenty of UT alumns can speak on that.
Another thing...I haven't "heralded" anything. I have been honest and shared a few things that happened. I regret that lost decade more than you will ever know.

Also..I want to apologize...not that you give a 💩, but I ignored you a couple of days ago, but I think you are a good guy even if you are a smartaleck, and I respect your opinion even though I often vehemently disagree...you have actually changed my mind about some things over the years.

So I'm not ignoring you, but I'd appreciate it if you would stop the personal attacks.

I kinda figured that. Would you mind passing on to that bald biker dude that I didn’t sneeze or cough, just cleared my throat. I ought to be pizzed, I almost chocked when he was taking credit for something he only latched onto for cheap tawdry likes.
I don't know why dude has it in for me so bad. I don't remember ever doing anything to him, but I guess I just really aggravate the absolute hell out of some people 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for understanding me.

While in no way am I down playing the severity of Ruggs’ actions, I just have to say it’s a good thing Jesus had a different take than several of you in regards to crime, punishment, and forgiveness. There would be a lot fewer disciples, as well as, a lot fewer books in the Bible. Which is weird considering he was sinless and none of are.

Yes...you are downplaying the severity of Ruggs actions. I strongly feel like this societal empathy/sympathy for drunk killers is a big reason why it so prevalent.."It's bad, but it's not THAT bad...it was an accident and everybody makes mistakes..so quit throwing stones"

Jesus will still forgive him even if he is in jail. All he has to do is ask. But Ruggs broke the law and deserves the punishment that should go along with that. I think Jesus would agree.

Exactly. We are offered forgiveness and redemption thru Christ, but the Word tells us that there are consequences for our actions.

How long does he have to pay for his sins? lol He has been clean since he has been at Liberty. Some of you are harder on him than what Ruggs did. lol

Heh? I don’t care about his sins. He’s out here begging for someone to notice him and it’s pathetic. It’s not like his life is in shambles. The dude is a HC of a D1 football program making $3M/yr.

How exactly did I downplay them? And who exactly are you quoting? I hope none of you fall off your high horse and land on anyone on your way down. Some might assume it was premeditated.

Lol..you just did again. You downplay it by attacking others for feeling extremely badly towards drunk killers.

In some ways, it was premeditated. Not the killing of a woman, but driving drunk. He went out in his fancy sports car. He knew he was gonna drink, he knew he was going to drive. Why else take the car? Then, not only did he drive drunk, he drove recklessly. Dude was doing 156mph. I don't even drive that fast sober. He made a series of bad choices and a 23 year old woman and her dog died because of those bad choices. He deserves to go to jail for that. It's called punishment.

You are correct. He does deserve to go to jail. He deserves to be punished. He would no matter how fancy his car was. Has anyone said he did not deserve to go to jail?
