We're going to have to do well in the portal, though, even Heup needs something to work with.
The SEC's - can't win without recruits, can't recruit without wins - circle, is brutal.

Knew this year would be bad but it's a little worse (so far) than I was expecting. We're going to be on a razor's edge for a year or 2. Need to nail evaluations and a little luck.

We also saw what it did for Florida in the long run. Short term its fine, but long term youre creating depth issues bringing in so many upper class men each class.

Tennessee needs to recruit young MEN who WANT to be here. The staff can coach and yes you need talent. A 3/4 star that will put in work and time to the program is as valuable as a 5 imo. We have the coaches for the first time in a long ass time. Cut them some slack for now. Stay positive and see what happens. We will fill out recruiting class but I would rather have kids who come to work and want to be here. It's a great University, long and storied program that has been struggling. We will get there and it starts tonight. Go Vols

Was out to dinner with my wife last night downtown and it was one of those places where the tables are within arms reach of each other. Table next to me, two couples probably in their 40-50s, started talking football. Apparently the couple on my side were Vol fans and the lady goes, “Our coach is awful. I have no optimism with him. Honestly, if he loses tomorrow I think he’s gone.”
