SEC West is about to have a major shake up here very soon. New coach at LSU and possibly A&M if Jimbo heads for the bayou. Looks as though Bama may be starting to slide. Pittman and Leach have their programs on the rise. Gonna be an interesting next few years in the conference especially with Texas and Oklahoma joining the fray. Georgia is the beast in the East but Heupel has the Vols about to surge and Florida could resurrect quickly if the right hire is made after Mullen leaves town.

Really like UT’s position to take hold as #2 in the East. South Carolina, Mizzou, and Vandy are going nowhere. Florida is in disarray. Kentucky is plateaued. It’s a great chance for UT to get to that slot and that’s easily 9-10 wins. Think there’s a chance we can get there in the next year or two, depending on what happens in Gainesville.

Lol isn't that usually a run play? That's the ole GT shiz. That's really selling it...and probably making UK DL scared the rest of the game. You know that had to shake them a bit, worried about knee diving bombs after that...and yeah we wrecked em all night.

Agree completely.

Some of the older farts on here will remember Joe Lee Dunn, the DC for OM, Arky, MSU and even USCe before they joined the SEC. There was never a play that he did not think he should blitz. Some games his method would dominate, others it would fail miserably. But you always knew you were in for a treat to watch it. He made being the underdog with less talent enjoyable and pulled off some upsets as a result.

So, DC Banks, go all Joe Lee Dunn on UGA. You and the team have zero to lose and everything to gain.

After coming down from the win high, I do think our defensive game plan was pretty bad last night. They did scheme against Wandale Robinson but he still torched us pretty good. We were pretty good on first down after than first drive, but we were not aggressive at all with bringing pressure. Maybe that was the plan to limit Levis' runs, but we got our stops (few though they were) when we got pressure on him. I know they were gassed but we probably could have gotten off the field a couple of times at least if we had pressured Levis more. JMHO, and what do I know, but I still think Banks has done a terrific job overall.

This defense only works in any sort of complimentary fashion when we are playing at full risk. Blitz, jump routes, rip the ball, whatever.

It looks like our plan all year has been play soft to limit the big play, until the other team gets in/near the redzone, then blitz to force a mistake or catch them sleep walking. Then you force a FG.

I had some issues with the scheme, but I can’t rip scheme when I continuously see us call a spy play and watch our LBs run directly to engage with a blocker for no reason.

Lb is our biggest position to upgrade next year given the way we seem to want to play schematically.

We’re not beating UGA, but I think we can make interesting for the first half. It all depends on if the defense can keep us in the game. We aren’t laying 45 points or 10 yards per play.
