Not arguing thatYou win/lose as a tram…. Sometimes the running game will fail us…. Sometimes the defense will let us down…. I don’t think they quit letting him throw…. I feel they working on things and in the second half they just took what the defense was giving them….Joe has to play better and I have confidence that he will.
It wasn't happening after spring. It was when everyone was transferring out prior to. And anyway, it wasn't obvious he was third. Milton wasn't here yet. At the end of spring a lot of folks thought it was HB's job to lose before Milton arrived. I don't think we know that HB isn't the 2nd string right now.I’d be interested to know why HB wouldn’t immediately run to that offer when it was obvious he was 3rd here since the middle of spring.
Can I advocate that I’d like to have Bailey as the 2nd String mainly because I personally think HB throws better than Hooker but also because Hooker lost a mesh point handoff which he has been known to do at Virginia Tech as well…?I don’t want Bailey playing just bc he was loyal to Tennessee. If Milton and Hooker flop then let’s see what he has. If it’s a blowout vs Tech I’d like to see him. If something clicks in practice and he starts looking like the best QB, then I trust Heupel to play him. But I don’t want him playing just bc he stayed loyal. That’s a bad reason to play a QB, other than in the situations described above.

HB is loyal. he doesn't want to transfer. he wants to be the guy who waits his turn and then has the opportunity to bring TN back. Now maybe Heup has a conversation with him one day and says, "you're not the guy in this offense," and of course he'll leave then. But unless he changes his mind, he doesn't want to transfer until it's obvious he isn't going to play here.
Hooker is gone next year. If Milton stays, HB is the back up at that point or the starter depending on how Milton plays the rest of the year this year. Or if Milton balls out, he could leave to and test the draft, and then it's HB, a freshman in Jackson, and likely another transfer competing for the job next year. It's so early in HB's career it continues to baffle me as to why people think he's done here. He has 5 years left if he wants them
I feel like whoever told Bass that, was just trying to start something because Gilbert went to UF. Before he decided to go to UGAThe timing makes more sense.
Disagree with your take regarding him not being third. He was behind Maurer in the spring game, then probably a combination of a really good game plus Maurer being a head case off the field likely bumped him up to #2 (until Milton showed up.)
I think we all know where this is headed - if Bailey doesn’t play very much this year, he will transfer out. It’s just the way of the world. I’m not saying that outcome is good for Tennessee, but it is what it is.
I’d be stunned if he landed at a program as good as Florida.
Definitely has the potential of a statement game…we will seeThe timing makes more sense.

I think Bailey is 3rd but the coaches like him and don’t want him transferring… I do feel they do see potential in him.The timing makes more sense.

He may transfer out after this year. I can't say. But I can say that had he transferred already he could be in Gainesville if he wanted to be. If that stuns you, it shouldn't.The timing makes more sense.

Bruh, we don’t have near the offensive weapons as we did in that game. There is nothing remotely similar to 2012.Pitt game reminds me a lot of NC State 2012.
They had a veteran QB.
An All-American corner.
7-year veteran coach.
I’m pretty sure they were favored.
And we know what happened next.
The rest of 2012 was forgettable, but for one night, we all thought UT was back!!!
Let’s do it again!
Everyone said he was leaving when Pruitt left and he stayed. He wants to be here. I don’t think he leaves. The timing makes more sense.
