Quick question. I haven’t been able to access this thread thru the recruiting forum the past few days. I have to go to the alerts and click on one of the replies to get in. Anyone know what went wrong? I looked and Involuntary started the thread and I don’t have him on ignore.

who’d I piss off?

The pendulum will swing back the other way. I feel it coming. Don't see Bama staying this strong once Saban leaves. Much like bear. They will try every Saban guy they can til they run out and during that time CJH will be rolling and they will complain about us as their permanent east opponent.

So let it be written so let it be done.

Please, please, please, please let one of them be pruitt! 😁

Pure luck

Nope, DW’s plan all along was to hire CJH and CJH was on board.

DE offered each “whale” and supposed great OC a contract that they would totally turn down. Played the media expertly and then hired his only choice. Masterful misdirection.

Contract offer to james franklin: $10 per game. $1 per practice attended, .50 per signed recruit, he would owe Tennessee $10 million if he left for any reason, $20 million if he is arrested for aiding and abetting rapists or interfering with an investigation…then DW would have the police arrest him at Tyson mcGee airport. Quick $20 million for NIL and off to the races… or something like that 😁

He cost me 250 dollars one year…. I bet on the Vikings to beat the pack by 3 at home with Brett Farve out injured….. The Vikings couldn’t do anything on offense bc Reggie wouldn’t allow them to do anything…. It was the most impressive defensive performance I had ever watched.

How many more schools is Kiffin going to screw over by leaving Ole Miss after a year to take another school? I mean, the guy hasn't really set the world on fire as a coach until this year with a Pro QB he inherited. If he does Ole Miss like he did us, when does it get to that point where schools can't trust the guy? You can only burn so many schools before it backfires on you. I don't get the fascination with Kiffin. There has got to be better coaches to go after than Kiffin. lol

An Ole Miss fan told me that Kiffin is considered to be a State employee and there are limits on how much he can make there. The fan also told me that he really likes it there. But he also likes money and I think he can be bought.

I 100% think he will leave ole miss at some time

But not for Miami this year

keep watching Florida though

I would bet that there may be limits on the amount that the state payroll system can contribute to his pay, but that his PACKAGE can be enhanced with money from the athletic department and booster groups, etc. Get a gig as a contractor for any number of activities.

I think a lot of that isn't necessarily because they expect him to be one of the best coaches in the country but possibly because they just don't want to go into the hire/fire/hired-away spiral so many other programs have dealt with. They're locking him in whether he's competing for championships or winning 2 games. They can't fire him and others can steal him. Valuing stability.
Could you imagine stability with a crap coach? Risky move

🤦🏼‍♂️ that's sad. His baby was right there.

He and she are both lucky she didnt sustain serious injuries. All it takes is the right punch in right location, or, slips and falls.

No idea how she wasn’t seriously injured. She is lucky to not have been in ICU. A lot of men would be seriously hurt with those blows

He isn’t long for Ole Miss. it’s not a destination job for anyone as you can’t consistently be elite there. It’s a cycle. Kiffin is a big stage guy and will find his way to first one that will take him.

Absurd might be a little strong, but I agree WE NEED A COMMIT!!!!!!!!

I have been HOPING for a while that this extended pause was a calculated strategy for several POSSIBLE reasons...

1 With limited ships to give out wanted to get as high up the board as possible and season trajectory impacts that.

2 Did not want to push early and get guys committed that would not hang tough if some games went the other way and have fleeing rats syndrome all over the boards and TV.

3 Trying to work the big board, narrowing real interest, until we actually gain bowl eligibility, and maybe even get a boost from COTH potential for our coach. This would fit with some crystal balls but not commits till after this week if we gain that status.

4 Pushing for best candidates starting now and utilizing the projected additional win next week to build momentum along with some better bowl talk if it all falls in place..

5 Would not want to take guys down the board earlier and have any negative press associated with running them off during an otherwise stronger closing period leading into both signing days.

6 Being able to calculate THE best mix between highest attainable HS kids and the ever expanding portal opportunities this time of year.

Bet the board in the war room has been changing dynamically while we have all been worrying about the lack of accepted commitments. No way of knowing if any of this is true or not and if what we have done for whatever reason was the best risk/reward path. Probably will be some head scratchers as they make their plans based on potential and FIT. With where we are and where we are headed with the NCAA thing still hanging over our head, minimizing misses on this group before and after they get here is really important. Normal yield rates will slow down growth and momentum. Hope they are either lucky or good for sure.
