When you grow up watching Tennessee, you are hooked. I know I am and I am glad of it.
Circumstances were different, I know, but I’m pretty sure we got 100k in for the App St. game
This is my take. Milton earned the job. If he can't get it done in games, he'll lose the job. Whether next man up is Hooker or Bailey, I don't know, but I hope one of the three can get it done. I'm not buying in on any one single QB, just whoever it is JH trots out there. I just want to win.The language percolating in fandom of him “bringing in his guy” and “Milton had the job as soon as he transferred” lends to this bs. Never believed that about Heupel and still don’t. He’s been doing this way too long (and effectively) to be cast as another Pruitt. We react to what we (think we) see in games. He knows how it connects and has the next step mapped out. Milton progresses and we benefit or he doesn’t and next man up. /science.
I criticized Milton for not being very fast or decisive on Thursday night, but that was really unfair in hindsight.
BG was dropping 8 and mostly into zone coverage which means that everyone's eyes were on the QB and they could react quickly. When TN plays a team that either rushes/blitzes more than 3 and/or plays man coverage (with their backs to the QB) Milton will have more opportunities to run and probably be very successful.
Our OLine gave up a lot of hurries and sacks for them to be dropped back like that so I wouldn’t expect much better when defense actually do start rushing the passer. This is true. BG decided they were okay with losing, but not okay with losing by 55+. So they decided to drop 8 and let the clock bleed as we rushed down their throats.
Most teams won’t be content with losing, so they will actually take chances on defense — rushing 5 or 6 or 7 at a time, which will open up opportunities for our WRs to get open against man coverage.
BG basically conceded defeat with their style of Defense. But they also ensured they couldn’t be embarrassed by a score of like 63-6.
IS this offense TOO SIMPLE for the SEC?!?! Come back in two years for the answer!
It’s amazing how the local media goes after the program like they do. It would never happen at other bigtime programs in the SEC. But for some reason Tennessee media love to hate on UT and live to dig up dirt/focus on the negative/if it bleeds it leads. Just a bunch of a holes if you ask me. If I were the AD or HC I wouldn’t let them around the program at all. Zero access. Can someone explain to me why the Knoxville News-Sentinel is writing an article about how the 12 former TN players who transferred to Power 5 schools did this weekend? Are they just that jaded they want to do whatever is necessary to make the University look bad? Did I just answer the question myself?
By the way I refuse to actually read the article or share it on here....

Really random but that was my first game too. Small world. Sat in the old bleachers next to the tunnel. My first game was against Texas Tech in 1997. No recollection of the game whatsoever. Didn’t even remember who UT played. Had a great time with my childhood best friend and his family.
Only reason I could figure out what game it was because I vividly remember going back to the hotel from Calhouns and finding out that Princess Diana had died. I had never even heard of Princess Diana. Then, Mother Theresa died a few days later. Also, I remember hearing Walkin on the Sun by Smashmouth and I Just Wanna Fly by Sugar Ray ad nauseum.
I know, cool story, bro.

Was interesting to me that BG just chose to stay in 2 high most of the game despite getting churned over in the run game.I criticized Milton for not being very fast or decisive on Thursday night, but that was really unfair in hindsight.

I think they are going to try and "mush rush" him. Make him feel pressure, but don't leave him any lanes to escape. This will speed his clock up and probably cause him to pull the ball down, but with nowhere really to go.Was interesting to me that BG just chose to stay in 2 high most of the game despite getting churned over in the run game.
My biggest question going into Pitt is how much will they try to pressure him? If you send pressure at him, you’re speeding up his clock for him imo. I expect them to bring a lot of simulated pressures at least early on.

The saddest part is that this fanbase is so large and a chunk is always so miserable they will continue to consume the garbage. It’s selling.
If You want to change it, stop reading their sh*t altogether. Unsubscribe to anything they have behind a paywall. Don’t visit their websites.
The consumer HAS THE POWER.
