Most reasonable fans (we have about three on this site, but there are some out there) realize that there is never going to be another Pat. She was a once in a lifetime coach. Of course, we still want to win championships and this year has started better than I originally thought after seeing the scores from the first couple of games. Our fanbase will support Kellie as long as she wins consistently. There will always be grumblers and people who say we should have hired Coach X, but I really don't think anyone expects Coach Harper to reach Pat's level of success. Not really.Any coach now or in the future is going to be compared to Pat Summit and it’s not really fair. What coach at any school is winning championships at such a pace with the parity and competition in today’s game?
Look I am a Tennessee fan totally,in everything.I like to see the teams win in every sport. I don’t know anything about you but I have seen people on here talking about you steering football recruits away from Tennessee.I really don’t need someone that does that chiming in and bashing me.
When I got word, I done headed that way too with my blades and neither of them clown turkeys were thereSpeaking of tears… please read this. S Car fanbase is in shambles. They are meeting up at restaurant to throw down. They have pictures and everything. I’m crying in laughter
Ain’t Worth It
Those who didn’t believe Mizzou, SC and KennyTuck were “unwinnable games” were targets of “realists”. Lots of vapid, soulless laughing of out loud. I didn’t guarantee 7 but had many a spirited conversation defending the sanity of those who did. I was on the record that we didn’t lose anybody irreplaceable and had better talent than was being acknowledged. Errybody jumped that we were playing a backup longsnapper at linebacker during spring without realizing that wasn’t the permanent depth chart. We definitely need some better players added, but what’s here got coached up the best in their careers.I dont want to give Farrell too much credit because he is a predator but I cant say predicting 4-8 was that outside of the norm. A lot of our fans were predicting that as well.
I’m not talking bad about Pat,but I can be objective to the point where I say competition is so much different in today’s game.More universities have made women’s basketball more of a priority than in the past and Pat Summit should be considered the architect of what it has become. You can put me on ignore if you like along with anyone else that would like to.Hey man, we aren't gonna talk bad about Pat in here, alright
we beat a pretty good Kentucky team. had us at 6-6. I'm content. Lots to build on, gotta croot. Those who didn’t believe Mizzou, SC and KennyTuck were “unwinnable games” were targets of “realists”. Competition, bad condition, hate petition. . . doesn't matter, Pat's Lady Vols by fiddy.I’m not talking bad about Pat,but I can be objective to the point where I say competition is so much different in today’s game.More universities have made women’s basketball more of a priority than in the past and Pat Summit should be considered the architect of what it has become. You can put me on ignore if you like along with anyone else that would like to.
I would be surprised if any coach in today’s game does win as many championships as she did.Isn’t that what her success as a coach is being judged by?I’ve already said she made the game what it is today. Most reasonable fans (we have about three on this site, but there are some out there) realize that there is never going to be another Pat. she was relentless, driven, tenacious.Competition, bad condition, hate petition. . . doesn't matter, Pat's Lady Vols by fiddy.
Am I doing it right?
Really though. . . competition is different today, but Coach Summitt was the most elite competitor. Put her into today's climate of competition and she'd thrive. She may be even more dominant now than she was during her career.
, thanks for the back-upSalute to you, buddy. I think a Kentucky fan wanted to have you committed and that was one of my conversations.
No, was asking what time the Vols game was set for next week. . . sarcastic question, knowing the reg season is over. . . but thanks for the info, was wondering about that gametime. Maybe I'm losing it, but don't we usually play the late game on championship weekend? Maybe not and I'm thinking that I wish the game was a night game.
