Current OU thread (fans talking) did list Heupel, but another poster said no to Heupel - because (just like some of them believe re: Riley) they need a "big boy football" coach 😄 Are they seriously stuck in 2010?

Almost EVERY SEC team has gone spread and away from old school smashmouth football. Even ole UK and UGA are finally adapting and spreading it out somewhat.

Do they really think the SEC is still ground and pound and defense? 😂
Uhmm...the SECs best still play great defense...it is just all relative.

Well, Gruden isnt doing anything at the moment.
Book it............
CJH to OU
Gruden to UT

I’m happy with huep too and hope he doesn’t leave… but if by chance it does happen and Kiffin shows interest in the job and you have the chance to take him why would you not

Much better than hiring Butch or Pruitt 2.0
**** that pos Kiffin 🤬 I hate that bastard

Kiffin can suck it…. I don’t see why so many people fawn over that guy.
He’s a douche but he’s still a good coach IMO, and I’d take him over an up and comer

I definitely see why people hate him, but personalities like his are good for sports imo. Like Spurrier, it gets old hearing the same bs coach speak. Like Jake Paul in boxing🤣 there always has to be someone that talks sh!t that everyone hates, makes it more entertaining. It’s just a helluva lot better when it’s your coach doing the talking

Give me the spurrier and Kiffins over the boring repetitive Coach speak. Like when Muschamp said what he said about the fans after the 2014 UF game. Just adds fuel to the rivalry and makes it better, it’s what makes college sports what they are

13 SEC teams are bowl eligigble. In the P12 they have half that and only a couple are even close to the playoffs. The path of least resistance. And if he gets SC in the playoffs the media will be hanging all over his nuts.
🤷🏻‍♂️ I get what all you guys are saying about "easiest path"

It is true that there are conferences that aren't as competitive or stacked as the SEC.

The best coaches build the best team, not seek the easiest path.

Heupel’s been great for us, but has he done enough for OU to want him for their job?

Seems they would want to shoot for someone more established. They have a loaded roster and recent success, so they have a lot to sell. I bet they don’t look at Heupel, which is fine by me.
