It's funny to me that Heupel is now more attractive this year when some of us were questioning the hire 10 months ago

Pulling off a near miraculous coaching job will do that..

Sallee is one that is pretty logical though. He didn’t care for Butch much, and I’m pretty sure he called out other media during Covid. I’ve heard radio interviews with him- very reasonable.

I actually like him. Eats crow when he’s served it.

13 SEC teams are bowl eligigble. In the P12 they have half that and only a couple are even close to the playoffs. The path of least resistance. And if he gets SC in the playoffs the media will be hanging all over his nuts.

Not as worried when they hired Mullen and we hired Pruitt. If Kiffin goes the Miami then Florida recruiting would be fun to watch

Lincoln Riley may have just stepped into a gold mine. One of the hottest recruiting areas in the country. Limited competition within the conference, especially compared to the SEC. 2nd largest media market just itching to hop on NIL opportunities. A dormant, but legendary program just begging to be revived.

I lived in L.A. during most of the Carroll years at USC. The city was buzzing about the Trojans then. If Riley can reignite some of that magic, he’ll have every local and national broadcaster singing his praises and defending his every move, especially ESPN, who loves them some USC.

Yup. He made a very smart move. USC is as blueblood as they come.

I really hope he builds USC into a powerhouse and brings back some national balance and wrecks Sankey's golden geese. Screw the rest of the SEC.
