If Wednesday rolls around and this is still hanging in the air, between VolTwitter and the national media, everyone in the nation will think Heupel’s on a plane to Norman.

They'll talk to the recruits and team. And CJH will probably comment within the context of something else. They're going to be talking about bowl selection and players leaving/returning. So it will be easy to address concerns to those who matter. The media will find something to spin no matter what UT or CJH says. Meanwhile, UT will go about wrapping up the semester, recruiting and bowl prep.

I’m really curious as to what the hell LSU is doing. Did they really have Riley until USC? They’ve had the longest amount of time outside of USC to identify a coach. Napier was in state and they let him go to Florida. Seems quiet on their front.

I'm wondering if they thought they thought they had Riley up to, and maybe past, his statement yesterday that he wouldn't be LSU's next coach? If so, that's dirty, but I'm here to see someone else get kicked in the nads for once.

That’s ok. But it would be strange to stay silent on the matter (assuming Heupel is staying) when you could avoid a lot of headache with something as simple as a tweet.

This is Tennessee we’re talking about. It’s not like we haven’t been through enough.

More the first than the second imo. He's got playcalling cred and his own style in that department. The rest of the HC package would be an unknown. But Oklahoma's last two hires followed that formula. Their last THREE SUCCESSFUL hires if you include Barry Switzer.

I really think they thought they had him.. now have no backup plan. Could be wrong but woof… they are scraping the bottom of the barrel if they don’t act fast. Campbell maybe? I doubt Fickell would consider. It’s weird that their search is going this way when they agreed to let ways with O so long ago… you’d think they’d have a leg up.
