You know of any of these high profile portal players we have a shot at? Thoughts on Napier at Florida? Harsin considering leaving AU? LSU going to hire anyone?

I'm not really following the coaching musical chairs this year. It feels good. But UF has learned something from their past searches while LSU seemingly has not. Bet the Barners, SCAR, Ole Miss and MSST want to sit this one out, too.

I guess never say never. But Heupel was fired by Stoops as a scapegoat. Didn’t end well. I think Heupel is more interested in getting OU on the schedule than being the coach there.

I’ve seen quite a few people say that Heupel wouldn’t go back to OU because he got fired from there but wasn’t it Stoops that fired him? I’m not sure why he would have animosity for OU if Stoops made the call.

Other teams will just tell recruits that Huepel is going to Oklahoma until they finally hire somebody. If we can capitalize on other programs’ turmoil, it will be a first.
We need to be calling all of KY's recruits and telling them Mark Stoops is leaving, either for OU or LSU. Even the ones we don't want, just for the hell of it. He needs the neg recruiting tables turned on him.

So, other coaches are gonna tell recruits our coach is leaving? I thought they were telling recruits we were going to NCAA prison-----I'm so confused :):)

Oh yeah, both of these things are being used against us. Most aggravating is that both may totally end up being non-issues, but both are damaging as long as they drag out.

I wouldn't worry about any of our marquee HCs leaving this year. UT leadership has met with them individually, asked each one what they need to make their programs successful and worked with them to create a plan that gives them the resources they need. They all know that stability is important to UT, and UT has committed to all sorts of things-- staff enhancements, facility improvements and longer-term contracts. We want our coaches to make short lists-- it means they're doing well. They're also happy at UT and know that UT is invested in keeping them.

I just think it’s astonishing to see @LA Vol post such a meaty positive paragraph about UT AD and coaches, when I think of the kind of stuff we were all bemoaning at this time exactly a year ago.

Also, in the context of all the programs getting ready to enter turmoil and tumult and chaos, it feels good to be the stable, contented ones for a change!

I honestly don’t think he can handle a job like that. I think Stoops knows his ceiling as a coach is at a place like UK, so he’s gonna stay there since they know their ceiling is similar, which is 9-3 or so.

I don't know if Mark Stoops could get it done at a bigger program either. I mean...I wanted UF to hire him. But if Mark wants to ever compete for a championship, he's gonna have to leave Kentucky. Just depends on if he's comfortable at the level he is now it has aspirations to do more.

They had it all lined up. No circus and mass speculation. Fired Mullen and hired Napier in a matter of days.

This is when the Dan White hire starts paying dividends. Our admin looks like adults in a sea of kids.

I'm betting stoops takes back over as head coach at OK. Probably be announced within a week with signing day so close
FWIW

“Bob Stoops met with the team today and I’m told he did tell them he was “just here to help for time being” and also “too old to keep on coaching long term.” Per a few sources.”

-Update from 247

I’m really curious as to what the hell LSU is doing. Did they really have Riley until USC? They’ve had the longest amount of time outside of USC to identify a coach. Napier was in state and they let him go to Florida. Seems quiet on their front.

Yea I don't know what other big fish they can pull at this point.

I really want Harsin to leave… for no other reason than to just set back those cheaters and lying snakes at Auburn who always are a pain in recruiting not to mention that damn cabin…
Manipulate someone of low intelligence (i.e., a Bama fan) into burning down the cabin.

After seeing Michigan take care of tOSU, I kinda feel like they may have a good chance of beating UGA.
Lol...nope...Meatchickens offense plays right into UGAs greatest strength, the only hope they would have is if their defense shuts UGA completely down as well and they win one of those 10-9 kind of games.
