Chadwells ncaa issues can’t be that bad right? His name has not come up in any coaching searches I’ve seen. You’d think VT would be interested.
They will spin it that his teams perform well in crunch time.Follow-Up...
I thought I might just be being unfair and cherrypicking his most recent year. So, out of intellectual honesty - I gave him another season. Maybe in 2020 he really steamrolled his way and wasn't just lucky winning a bunch of coin flips...
Naw
3 pt win over Ga St
2 pt win over Ga Southern
4 pt win over UAB
10 pt win over 2-10 Texas St
7 pt win over Arky St
3 pt win over App St
7 pt win over UTSA
He either made a deal with the devil and should head straight to Vegas to play craps or he's just a meaty okre coach waiting to be exposed
Dude, I’m trying to have a relaxing Sunday evening and catch up on the threads and you have like 20 posts slobbering all over Kiffin, give it a rest or exercise your demons on the Ole Miss boards then come back when your ready… geezBut….. He’s maintained relationships at every job he’s ever had (minus the raiders, they didn’t get along well). He’s still great friends with people from his time as USC and Tennessee, and everyone says he’s great to work with
Stoops was named interim so I’m sure he still has a lot of influence about who is hired. Like I said, never say never. But my bet is Heupel hasn’t forgotten how it ended.I’ve seen quite a few people say that Heupel wouldn’t go back to OU because he got fired from there but wasn’t it Stoops that fired him? I’m not sure why he would have animosity for OU if Stoops made the call.

Chadwell could go to Virginia Tech with his offensive staff and do everything he can to get Grantham to be his DC. That would be pretty dangerous in the ACC.Chadwell’s big problem is that he wants to keep his staff together, Scott Frost style, and AD’s have seen how that has worked out.
I would advise him to take a Heupel approach, with a good mix of his guys and guys with Power 5 experience.
If you don’t care, post this about every 30 minutes for all these worriers.I wouldn't worry about any of our marquee HCs leaving this year. UT leadership has met with them individually, asked each one what they need to make their programs successful and worked with them to create a plan that gives them the resources they need. They all know that stability is important to UT, and UT has committed to all sorts of things-- staff enhancements, facility improvements and longer-term contracts. We want our coaches to make short lists-- it means they're doing well. They're also happy at UT and know that UT is invested in keeping them.
Stoops looked pretty content chilling on the Big Noon Saturday pregame coverage. Why would you want to come back to the recruiting grind of CFB?I think Hubbs is spot on in his evaluation of the Heupel - Oklahoma talk. Unlikely that Heupel throws his name in the hat on his own given the rocky nature of his relationship with Bob Stoops, but if they reached out to him it would be interesting to see if he'd listen.
I don't really see it getting to that point. I think Bob Stoops takes back over when it's all said and done. His continued involvement in the program in recent years combined with him being named the interim coach for the bowl game makes me think his coaching days aren't over in Norman.
