My very unpopular opinion, Georgia is not deserving of the love they've received this season IF they lose to Bama. IF they lose this weekend, I don't think they should be in the playoffs IF other teams take care of business. If Oklahoma State, Michigan, and Cincinnati all win this weekend, I think they should be in over whoever loses the SEC Championship game, even if it is Georgia. Having looked at the schedules, Georgia's most significant win this season was Clemson, and honestly, Clemson just hasn't been that good this year. I think an undefeated Cincinnati team would be more deserving, IMO, than a team that just lost to another playoff team. The committee won't look at it that way because they, and everyone else, are in love with that UGA defense, but I don't think they should make it IF they lose to Bama this weekend.

The last time UGA won a championship it was under similar circumstances. They played no one.

Playoff not expanding, yet.


"The CFP Management Committee met today to discuss expanding the Playoff.

We continue to make progress, but a variety of issues remain. The commissioners will meet again to see if the remaining items can be settled. The possibility of expansion is complicated and has multiple issues associated with it. Given the importance of the matter and our desire to achieve as much consensus as possible, we will continue our meetings to see if the differences that exist can be narrowed.

There remains a strong consensus that expansion is desirable, whether it begins early, or possibly not until the 2025-2026 season is over. The precise details of how it can be best achieved remain to be settled. We will continue to work at it. If- and I repeat if- the commissioners move forward with a recommendation, it is up to the presidents and chancellors who serve on the Board of Managers to decide if any possible future recommendation will be accepted."

I'm getting a kick out of all the Notre Dame people realizing their not the ideal football program that nobody could find fault with.

I recall back in 2010 there were articles written about whether Notre Dame should even be considered an elite football program after a long, long stretch of irrelevance. Kelly brought them back to at least relevance with that 2012 title run, despite the blowout loss to Bama. Be interesting to see if anyone else can sustain it. They may be about to revert to mediocrity.
