Fair points about Kiffin. I really want to avoid one of those slurp posts from Mcgill. So to be clear screw him. I just think the best hires are the ones you hope your rivals dont make. He falls into this category for me. His teams are really frustrating to play against. Gameday is also not everything. A lot more to being the head man at a big program than scoring points.

Glad we have Heupel. I'm starting to think he's just as frustrating to play against and also borderline flawless off the field so far. Just gotta show he can recruit with the big boys. We'll find out.
Lol...had to getcha for the "elite coach" comment..😁

Maybe the adults they are only supposed to be consenting with?

Agreed, but as you catch up you'll see that it wasn't even the right Bama coach they were throwing mud at. Maybe the coach in question is an unfaithful guy...who knows, the fact social media and other "journalist" drug Pete Golding over something he didn't do though without being held accountable is discouraging.

Bad news is seasonalized and doesn't "go away" even when it's found to be inaccurate or untrue. So the majority of people moving forward will continue to think/say Pete was hugging up on a cheerleader and got "caught" and very few will realize it was a different coach.

So just give it Saban every year

Well Lane or Heupel deserved it more. Kirby took a 8-2 team and a top 3 recruiting class and went 12-1. Lane went from 5-5 to 10-2, and Heupel went from 3-7 to 7-5. Lane had better recruits and a deeper team but his first year class was 17th. Josh had mass exodus and a 18th rated class to do it with.

You know Smart has to have it in the back of his mind that Saban made a QB change at halftime of a national championship game against him and it paid off massively.
Fans are rumbling and grumbling about his choice of quarterback. If Kirby loses, his record is a little worse then Richt's, although he has gotten them into the playoffs.

I dont think thats true. I just think ADs are hesitant to commit to Lane long term. Its too risky. And they're probably right. He is an elite coach. But these ADs know they cant control him.

Once a knucklehead, always a knucklehead. Not necessarily control but trust. You reputations matters when you might be considered for elite jobs. That's why OM can take a flyer.

I read that Napier told all his currently committed players to hold off on signing until the second signing day while he evaluates them. No wonder they are all looking around for better options.
Oh wow, I can see why they are pissed. There is no time for replacements, really after ESD. Really, really stupid thing to do if true.

Burn the mutha down. Burn. It. Down.

Just wanted to share a cool story bro moment…. My guy is number 28…. It was the first time the trainers(suppose to be nerds) beat the managers(suppose to be athletes) in the annual flag football game since 2011…. The managers were pissed and one of the managers said in front of several football players stated that the only reason they lost was bc the trainers were too physical…. Tyler Baron started laughing and couldn’t stop….saying that the trainers were too physical in flag football. The football players ragged on the managers for several days.

As for the Baron rumors…. My person had heard something about that but didn’t really think it was true so I didn’t share it…. The rumor was not an issue with Tyler but the staff had a huge problem with his dad that was on staff and Tyler may go with him…. If we lose Tyler…. It will be a shame bc he has been a great teammate, person, and leader over there…. You can’t say that about most of the transfers we have had.

You can't blame a kid for their parents faults, and you can't blame him for leaving because of their parent...blood is thicker than water.

My boy said.."look Dad..we all know he sucks in most ways as a HC, but as long as he keeps stacking up these classes as a recruiter we also know we will always be a pretty good team"
Oh yeah. I was a helluva coach the years we had several D1s playing. Got a lot dumber when we didn't. Not complicated.

It seems like all new coaching vacancies have Kiffin as a realistic candidate. With reporting, it’s difficult to distinguish between accurate early intel versus lazy speculation.

The same names were speculated on for the LSU, USC, and Florida jobs. Only Napier was selected correctly and that’s because Florida had their ducks in a row.
Kiffin texts or emails whoever he has to in an attempt to convey he's interested in every job. If MTSU fired Stockstill Kiffin would post a picture on Twitter at the Murfreesboro airport.

I'm sure the "Kiffin would definitely come back to Tennessee" nonsense from Clay Travis last year was exactly that.

And it worked. He got exactly what he wanted. A raise and an extension.
