Heupel's offense does not discriminate against DBs who either have terrible or elite coaching. Our WRs WILL get open. Often. Just look at what we did with our WRs in 2021 with a pieced-together team that had almost no time to integrate into CJH's O. Get used to the Decade Of The Vols.

BTW, those who are concerned re: Hyatt -- dude has been dedicated to the gym and Jugs machine since the second or third game of the season. He's going to be a baller
🤞. Just because I like the kid and family. Science.

If you’re Phil Knight this makes sense in every conceivable way. He plays an exciting brand of ball kids like and his social media presence with his style of being in everyone’s face would enhance the Nike brand. From a marketing perspective this is gold and then you pump up an instant rivalry between Lane and Lincoln
But you also have to deal with the fact he's crooked, and has been involved in recruiting improprieties in the past. There's a definite risk/reward factor with Kiffin. JMO, but the reward is not worth the risk.

TIA, but can someone let the NCAA know on their travels from Texas to Florida, or vice versa, that alabama and Georgia are along the way.

Yes, please. I doubt they ever look at Bama (though they should), but maybe Georgia isn't as untouchable. Torch Kirby's ass.

Didn’t lane just sign a contract extension?

Or did he - didn't we hear word that his contract sat on his desk unsigned for several months when he was here? I thought I remembered that being the story because I thought that was extremely strange.

As of right now, only TN guys in portal.

This got caught up in the wash of the past 10 pages or so, but Carlin Fils-Aime shows leaving the University in January of 2021, so we won't get a spot for him, however the others (all but Evans) show active in the UT directory, and Evans just announced recently so the assumption would be that these five spots can be replaced. So by my count would be five current transfer spots we would get for a total standing at 30 as of tonight.

From a practical, day-to-day perspective, the biggest loss by far is Venables. They had a down year by their standards, but they would have had a horrendous year (maybe as many as 4 more losses) if it wasn't for their defense.

I don't think Elliott is much of an OC tactically (that was all Watson/Lawrence/their WRs/Etienne), but if he's a good recruiter then it is a loss. Losing the AD is kind of jarring because he's he leader of the athletic department, but he didn't hire Dabo and honestly I don't think has had to make a bunch of consequential decisions there in terms of personnel. I think he's made a few hires in the non-revenue sports, and he's let a men's basketball coach who isn't very good and was hired before he took the job stay on.

Dabo needs another electric QB is ultimately what it boils down to.
If I could figure out how to post gifs...right here is where I would post that one with the house on fire that says "nothing to see here, everything's fine"

Replacing both coordinators efficiently when you've just had your worst year in a long time (especially Venables) is going to be a pretty tough row to hoe.

It’s definitely less than ideal for old Dabo…although I guess it gives him a chance to make “big changes” like every coach does when their seat starts feeling just a little warm.

I got you

This year.... coaching chaos, other teams being investigated, transfers and decommitments... and Tennessee (currently) sitting pretty.

The maniacal laughter GIF is so awesome. That's my buddy Chris Cope. He has done well for himself as a standup comedian.

We used to party together in Gainesville and he and some other local comics had us come to a going away show when my wife was pregnant and we were moving from Gville to North Carolina. He asked us to wear our UT gear and had us sit in the front row so they could make fun of us all night. Great guy even if he is a gator fan.

He accepted a contract extension, but there's no guarantee they had all the legal language worked out by now to have an actual updated contract for him to sign.
Accepted means contract accepted (signed and binding). Otherwise, it's still discussions.
