Getting that award kinda chapped my rear, kinda like Caitlen Jenner getting that ESPN award. Someone said it best earlier that athletic awards are no longer for athletic achievements. Guess I'm just the old man on the porch these days.
They have the best running back in the FCS right now in Quay Holmes. If he doesn't try his hand at the NFL I want him as a RB for UT1. Those are the best announcers I've heard on TV in a long damn time. Why are they calling FCS? They brought a little bit of the magic that Ward did in that they're excited about what's happening on the field. Ward was a master of that so much so there were a few times I can remember thinking 'well you don't have to be that excited when it's the other team.' lol. IOW, they sounded like they were having fun not just filling air with whatever dumb remark but having fun watching football.
2. I'm shocked at the fan support there. ETSU had closed up shop and I know Fulmer did a ton of work to rebuild their program before handing the keys over to Sanders and that Sanders probably would still be in D1 were it not for Fulmer and home calling (ETSU ain't too far from Morristown ) but that's still an enormous amount of fan support all things considered. ETSU seems to be positioning itself to slide into the spot that Carson Newman once held both in terms of having fan support and in terms of them positioning to be a really good D2.
It's mind blowing that Carson Newman is no longer even decent after they were so good for so long but we've all seen it happen. I don't know what the blueprint for ETSU will be now that NIL matters. Carson Newman used to scoop up those kids with PWOs and put them on full scholarship.
3. That was an amazing finish. I really hope ETSU continues to thrive under Sanders. It will only help the region and maybe even send a breakout player our way now and then.
I don’t want a Michigan winner, but would love to see Cincinnati win it all.I desperately want a Cincinnati v Michigan final.
More than that, I want a Cincinnati or Michigan winner.
Michigan winning would probably create a power shift with Ohio State in the Big Ten (which is already starting).
Cincinnati winning and Fickell staying would surely hurt Kentucky in recruiting, and seriously create a battle with Ohio State for midwest/Ohio recruiting. Fickell really should be hammering the midwestern Kentucky, Purdue, and Louisville recruits and stealing them. Just proving a G5 team can make the playoff should have kids looking... even better if they can upset Bama.

Oregon requested permission from UCLA to talk to Chip Kelly. If I’m Chip I stay put at UCLA. Why in the world would you go back to Oregon. Went 46-7 there from 09-12’ with a championship appearance those fans will be reckless if you fall short anything below that. You have UCLA at 8-4 probably 9-4 after the bowl so why leave? UCLA has really good facilities too

Yeah UCLA has good facilities, just opened their football building like 3-4 years agoI'm asking this seriously: Do they? From what I've heard the California state schools are woefully behind everyone (for obvious reasons) in facilities and coaches pay and that is one reason, the main reason, they have fallen so far behind.
