I thought we were talking about people paying to watch the players not the admin, coaches and AD. My point is the players are nothing without the organization and coaches that coach them. The NIL is a whole different discussion that has been discussed relentlessly...and is turning into nothing more than pay-for-play on steroids. Which is a whole other discussion that has been discussed ad nauseamIs it? If someone wants to use your name to make some money, should you not get some of the profit.? NIL means name, image, likeness. Is it going to be abused by schools to pay the players? Yes. Does that mean that players don't deserve compensation for bringing revenue to the school or to a private business entity? No.
I gotcha. By the same token, there is no revenue without the players. But, I respect you a lot and don't want to continue to belabor our points. I hope I have not carried this discussion to the point where you feel like you have to tell me "Bless your heart," LOL.I thought we were talking about people paying to watch the players not the admin, coaches and AD. Just because we won’t pay a truck load of cash to a one year rental doesn’t mean we aren’t trying and that we don’t want to win either. Also doesn’t mean our NIL stuff is wrong and people aren’t pulling in the same direction. Guy likes to stir up vol fans. Jumbo can go 8-4 and under achieve but nothing is said because he apparently is throwing money. The guy seems dumb and all he cares about is who is throwing cash. Cares nothing about what’s the best situation for the player.Athletes value those who cut their hair…ask around. This guy also works with athletes. I’ve disagreed with some of his stances and the presentation as much or more than anyone, but he’s not a blowhard. He has access and I believe he’s a fan of the program we follow. Errybody’s entitled to their own opinion so I’ll leave it there.
Whoa whoa whoa! We’re having two different conversations! I’m vouching for his credibility…not his personal takes on the information.Just because we won’t pay a truck load of cash to a one year rental doesn’t mean we aren’t trying and that we don’t want to win either. No! I was simply saying you phrased it as players are the only thing that matters because that's who we watch. You get a "God bless you!" instead lol.I gotcha. If that's the case, what's wrong with that? Every other American gets to do that. A scholarship is a fraction of the value they provide, in reality the schools should have a salary cap for the athletes if things were really fair.Sounds like it's more about getting paid for their potential to perform in college.
We already had that. The NIL was supposed to reward players on the team that were actually contributing to that value. If that's the case, what's wrong with that? Every other American gets to do that. The NIL has nothing to do with the school. It's an arrangement between a business and a player. It has nothing to do with being rewarded for performance. If a crappy player is popular and endorses a product well, he makes money unrelated to his performance. We already had that. The NIL was supposed to reward players on the team that were actually contributing to that value.
