They’re saying that was the first ever quad-state recorded, and first time they’ve recorded a debris field 30,000 feet in the air…. That’s commercial airliner altitude. Mayfield got messed up something big. Devastating.
That is unbelievable. 30k ft? That's what, about 6 miles? Thats up there! 70 miles up and you're leaving the atmosphere.

And may be the strongest, longest lived tornado in the modern era (163 miles, 3 hours). Mayfield got messed up something big. Devastating.
It tracked for 300+ miles, it's going to break all records.

Any talk about an NIL from anyone at the University. There was never any reason for him to expect an NIL discussion from UT.
I agree...still doesn't make what I said wrong. For Zach Evans to step foot on ANY campus to enroll, an NIL discussion will have to be had and agreed upon. Sounds like he's had those discussions with TCU and Ole Miss, be it with coaches (a violation, as I understand the rule), or a booster or business.
Sounds to me, whenever he met our coaches, they said nothing or very little about NIL.

As far as Evans wanting to play at UT...he was very close last time, and sees the potential this time. If UT (boosters, businesses, supporters, whatever) can present something to him, he's a Vol.

Or, at least, that's what I've taken from all of this.

Everyone was instructed to say nothing and change the subject if it was brought up. This is in general, not just for his visit. Idk if he was supposed to meet with anyone outside UT afterwards or before, or if he did.

Gotcha. So is it safe to assume that the news about A&M and others getting in trouble for their NIL spooked our people into not doing it, which would be typical TN? Or did something else occur with the NIL that pushed Evans away?
They (UT employees) wont talk to you about NIL at all and not much even after you're enrolled, playing and then pick up an NIL.

I dont want Heupel or anyone on staff saying sh!t to these kids about these deals; but, someone has to. I'm satisfied right now where we are as far as the trail and transfers, and the class we have...but, next year, we will have to be on our game, in ALL aspects, including NIL, if we want to truly take a next step.

300 miles? Incredible. Has there ever been anything close to that?
Tri-state tornado was not that long, but close. This would be a record if he’s right about 300+ miles. The Tri-state could be successive multiple tornados… still. Better technology now, amazing what you can get now. It’s radar track did look like one signature.

I'm sure there is a way that people get in touch with recruits for NIL, but it is absolutely not discussed openly by any UT employees that matter. They have a program set up to help student athletes with NIL advice, but outside of that, it's kinda taboo to talk about.

I'm cool with that for the time being...we don't need anymore violations, if we can help it...just think if our name was in the headlines with all these others about NIL, right now, whenever we have a case already opened on us. But, something will eventually have to change, it sounds like.

There are some things happening, without a doubt. UT is probably going to start a Heisman campaign for Hooker after the bowl game some time. Some think he could get upwards of $500k in NIL once it starts.

That storm had to be a monster, if the wind that's coming through Knoxville on the outer edge of the system is any indication.
Feeling the effects of it all the way up here in Philadelphia. Nowhere near as cool as it's been, and it's been pouring down off and on since about 6 last night.

I do hope everyone is safe and well; and all of my heart goes out to those who have lost loved ones and livelihoods.

I can't remember ever feeling the temperature so unstable. Wind blowing one direction with 75 degree temp, then immediately changing direction and temp instantly dropping 5-10 degrees. Wicked feeling.

Tornadoes and tornado weather is the strangest of them all, imo.

I understand that, but I’m asking what happened with the NIL that caused Evans to back out? If that’s the final piece of the puzzle that didn’t fit for him, was it just not enough money or something else?

Just heavy rain here, and the wind, all my firewood is wet now but no trees on any of barns means safe animals so I'm happy. I hate these storms, never get any sleep so I can stay vigilant for the farm and animals.

Hope everyone here is safe, prayers for those who've been impacted by the tornadoes to our west and north.
