Venables killing it. Who knows how he’ll be come game day but he’s justifying all the effort that UTAD and other ADs spent pursuing him over the years.

we are likely going to have a top 20 class after early signing day, with plenty of room to bring on more guys by the next signing day, and/or through portal season

WAY, WAY too early to freak out

I'd say a top 25 class was way ahead of schedule, given how far behind this staff was taking up recruiting anyway, and where the program was

Oh I agree and definitely not freaking out, just trying to look at it realistically and not through orange glasses... there's no reason why Heup and crew can't recruit at a high level, it's just a bit weird how some of this had trended in the past two weeks. Really hoping the apparent lack of NIL money is not what's causing this ....

I am not sure why you think that. His reputation as a recruiter within the conference is tremendous. You could possibly argue that the reason he has put so many kids in the league is because he has recruited at such a high level. However, he has to have some development skills to go along with that. It is not orange glasses for me. It is simple numbers. I would like to know who you think is better in the conference. I am legitimately interested.

He's put more Dlineman in the NFL over the past 25 years than SEC team totals for the same period. That's across 2 different stops. I don't know what he's talking about. Garner is legit. I hope Butler gets added to his total

Who did we lose that has the mood down?

The Evans thing going downhill really rained on a lot of folks' parade. That was a tough pill to swallow because of the buzz on here for a few weeks and people getting their hopes up. That downer really set the table for the rest...

Agu seemed like a Vol just a week ago, so losing out on him (to Vandy) has got people down. West was another that seemed like we might have a shot but the FSU news that he's trending their way seems like another that got away.

Auburn emerging/trending for Marquise Gilbert and Keionte Scott has also got some huffy.

It's not really any one loss that's got everyone upset, just guys that looked like leans or ones we were in the fight for not really going our way.

Let's see what happens Wednesday and with the portal situation, but if we continue to whiff on kids with all that this program has going right now and where we are trending, I really hope we don't find ourselves with the opposite of the last staff.... Pruitt and Co--- can recruit, but can't coach... Heup and Co--- can coach, but can't recruit...

I know Heup and staff haven't had a lot of time to build relationships, and that is key, but there are a few whiffs (other than us failing in the NIL department) that will be surprising with how we stack up with a few other current programs... Time will definitely tell...

Agree 100%. Josh Heupel has yet to prove he can recruit at this level. I’m not sure how he did at UCF relative to his competition. I like Heupel alot & believe in the culture he’s creating. I do have concerns with our ability to recruit high quality players. It seems like alot of players are deflecting with great opportunity staring them in the face.

Thanks. Appreciate the overview.

because he is a diva.
blue chips have always been encouraged to be divas, now they're basically incentivized to be divas

as long as they can do this

Anyone who can give the Eulogy he did can recruit. I hate to say it because I don't think there was any ulterior motive to it but that Eulogy was a recruiting pitch. In the sense that I came away thinking, "Man, JH really cares about these guys and their families." Who is gonna have the best interests of my son or grandson at heart? Who is gonna be there for him after football or if he gets hurt? Those are still the most important questions families want answered. The recruiting will come, imo.

It's just going to take establishing ties and getting more face time with parents but a lot of these guys have been recruited for several years by the same folks and CJH is running behind that. He'll catch up, especially now that the NCAA cloud has lessened.

They tried to make a feeler. Even Golesh was trying to figure it out. TCU blew anything suggested out if the water. He already had like enough but they want him to stay and offered more. Also Nolen walked because they couldn't get that deal done either. Like you have to read between the lines. These kids wanted to go to UT but they weren't coming for free like any other top tier jid is not. In order to compete like Bama and UGA you have to do as they do. In this current time UT was not ready to step up ro the plate. The kid didn't come in on a visit because they came to Nashville. I have proof and have validated myself with who I want to. Again I say this Spyre doesn't have a clue and are learning on the job while claiming they know what/how to do it. That's a lie.

Is he really not signing Wednesday or is this just more drama to get more cameras there for an exclusive before the early window closes?

Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances on the planet. So, there is a lot of territory in there. Most of the people who are in recovery from opioids, maintain their addiction to nicotine.

You may be right that it may someday be used in addiction recovery, but for now I continue to believe it is doing way more harm than good. Where there is a huge potential market ($$$), there is also the huge potential for lot's of misinformation. Let the buyer beware!

No doubt Suboxone and Methadone are misused a lot.
Not to continue this subject much more, since it's OT, but are you suggesting that nicotine addiction is in the same ball-park as opiates or alcohol?
