Agree 100%. Josh Heupel has yet to prove he can recruit at this level. I’m not sure how he did at UCF relative to his competition. I like Heupel alot & believe in the culture he’s creating. I do have concerns with our ability to recruit high quality players. It seems like alot of players are deflecting with great opportunity staring them in the face.
One thing that’s slightly concerning to me, is that Heupel did not leave UCF better than he found it. To hear their fans tell it, he did not recruit well down there. Not trying to put a damper on our program, because I do believe Heupel did an incredible job on the field this year. Recruiting is definitely going to have to hit another gear though if Tennessee is going to compete for championships. It’s likely something they have to build up to over time, but we’re not beating Georgia, Bama and Florida by recruiting in the top 20 IMO.

So changing topics, pardon my ignorance on this, but what is our situation with TE's? I think you'd have to be stupid not to acknowledge GA's use of their TE in the game last week and how much of a weapon they can be if used properly...

I see Davis, but he need to put on some serious LB's... Any portal kids?

I believe Hype was in the 60-70 range in team recruiting rankings at UCF. So, he has obviously improved from that in his short term. We are not whiffing on players. Many guys are going to teams with 10+ wins. We have not sniffed that in a long time. We also could not in state in person visit until this summer along with an yet to be proven NIL system. Hype has exceeeded expectations in wins and recruiting. If the things he can’t control such as NIL deals catch up with him along with steady win / loss improvement, we’ll be fine…

I know everyone is excited about recruiting and the upcoming holidays but i need to vent a little and ask a couple questions for the ones who may know. So after a week the investigation wrapped up, the bank finally puts the money back that was stolen out of our account only to find out the funds are frozen and my account restricted due to it being compromised. The bank needs me to send them a copy of my drivers liscense front/back, most recent utility bill proving my identification is what they have on file. After that they are gonna send me a hard copy check of the amount owed and could take up to 14 business days. I told the bank if they made it this hard for the hackers to get my money it woulda never gotten stolen. My question is this protocol for it to be so hard to get my money back and to take this long? I know its a long shot but is there any legal action that can be taken??Im the only income for my family and this has almost crippled us with my next paycheck still a week away.

Sorry for such a long post.

That sounds awful. I don’t know about legal action, but if it was me, I would definitely be proactive about contacting everyone I owe money to (mortgage, utilities, car payment, credit cards, etc) to let them know what happened and ask for an extension without penalty or interest. Hopefully most of them will be willing to work with you.

A random bowl in December against Purdue doesn’t mean much regardless.

But a win gets us to 8 and for recruiting and “marketing” it helps immensely. Nobody cares if Purdue is out two guys when you can go into recruits homes and say that you won 8 games in your first year with like 65 scholarship players

And, blowing out your opponent in the bowl game would be the icing on top.

These were the following recruiting rankings for UCF within the AAC:

2016 (Frost)- 4th
2017 (Frost)- 1st
2018 (Heupel hired 2 months before)- 2nd
2019- (Heupel)- 1st
2020- (Heupel)- 7th but only signed 20 and had the 4th best average player rating; also one recruit from this class had almost 900 scrimmage yards this year and another was 2nd in tackles

In the AAC, there are only a few (or less) 4 stars signed altogether in the conference each year. So, it's about who can sign and develop the best 3 stars.

Heupel also took Daavid Wilson from UGA and Brandon Johnson from UT, both who were contributors on this year's team. Johnson led in scoring.

I am not worried yet because we know the ones coming will get developed. I am fairly certain that Clemson started its dominance with classes that were not in the top 7.
