Our schedule next year is VERY manageable. It might be even slightly easier than this year considering which games are home/away. I think winning 9 games is a very realistic possibility with the current roster we have especially with returning a Heisman-caliber QB if he stays healthy.

If we win 9 games in the regular season in YEAR 2 (!) recruiting will solve itself. We’re not going to dig ourselves out of this hole overnight. It’s up to the coaches to use the talent we have and win some very winnable games against teams going through coaching changes to get us to 9 wins.

Do that and everything will be fine and you likely get a Top-10 recruiting class in 2023 because of it.

We can thank Pruitt for most of the recruiting struggles this year. He told coaches and players throughout Tennessee they weren’t good enough and he couldn’t win with Tennessee players.
What a load of crap. I’m glad as anyone that Pruitt is gone but he killed in TN in 2020 taking 7 of the state’s 12 four stars. We hired a guy who turned a 13-0 program into a 6-4 team and people think the problem is Pruitt. Riiight.

This is how we get great Recruiting classes: WIN games.

Whether we want to admit it, recruits think of on par with Louisville, West Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina. Only we can fix this.

Good grief. First it was we have to get rid of Pruitt. Then we are losing all our players and can’t get a coach. Then it was we don’t have a QB and not enough players on defense to get through a game. Then it was we don’t have enough players on the offensive line with injuries. Then we had no pass rush. Then we had no DBs. After ALL that we went 7-5 with a chance to win 8 in year one of a disaster with a new coach!!!!!!!!!!!!! And a year later y’all are screaming about a few players that had no intention of coming here, most of which were committed somewhere else, picking who everyone said they would. Can’t you be thankful for good coaches and the good players we got, with free agency in the portal????

Excellent post. I mean the sky is falling. Heupel sucks. Garner is t the guy we thought. Vandy and Illinois are out recruiting us. Blah, blah, blah. It’s always something with some on here. It’s hilarious.

I mean you are some mentioning if TN wants to win championships then recruiting has to pick up. Championships? I mean we are two years away from 3-7 and have won 9 games what 3 times since 2007? And people want to talk about championships? That’s BS excuses to just trash Heupel and this staff.

Very few take into account we had to replace the entire recruiting department. All of the prior relationships that were made and the progress that was made disintegrated.

This. And if we can steal one from LSU which wouldn’t be outlandish and finally pull one out against Florida we could conceivably end with 10 wins if we win all the others we are supposed to.
