I just takes one quality ILB from the portal to upgrade the position go with Banks, Beasley and the rest who will each have another off season in the S&C, SP and camp to get ready in the same system with the same coaches. We will be fine. Depth will begin to become our friend next season. Our guys get to practice against our own great uptempo scheme.

Addition by subtraction at QB as well. Corral and Picket are gone from the schedule. Both killed us in winnable games.

So is the Pitt OC who was working with Pickett. Thats a complete restart.

Very pleased with how we closed today, but LB is a HUGE concern for me going forward. RPO offenses have changed the position, but we have essentially 1 proven SEC level LB on the roster in Banks. Beasley was not impressive and while I thought Mohan flashed on teams this year, Willis and Marley are complete unknowns. Imagine if Banks got hurt?

I recall @griddie , who knows football in NC, saying he didn't see Marley on defense as he wasn't a downhill player.

Also, unless a LB is producing at a high level and transferring up, I'm not that interested. Otherwise they likely were beat out and looking for an easier path to PT.

Or...their current team just fired the entire staff and they don't want to play there anymore (as is the case in most I shared).

I just want quality SEC bodies at ILB. I still don't know if Eason can play there as heavy as he is but he's also still on roster.

Aww bless your heart. Not understanding thats a position of need
There's still the portal, very few linebackers it out high school should see the field in the first year save special teams anyway.

Biggest knock on Huepel was recruiting, in his first year he closed on who he should have and turned a few. He exceeded my expectations today. No reason at all for negativity today Eeyore!

So we're just going to ignore the obvious holes and then bitch about it next fall. Got it

think its time to put the "can't recruit" noise to bed. it's only going to be an easier sell when we win 9 next year. i'm pumped.

LB is down the list of most important positions. OL, DL, QB drive the success of a team. Everyone else is dependent on those. Yes we need LB, but we did really well at the positions that matter most.

So intresting not. Jordan James running back out of Oakland TN still isnt listed as signed anywhere. AP mentioned a surprise visitor a couple weeks ago.
Maybe?
I just looked it up, he's signing in February.
