Sounds so good hearing that we are capable of thrashing a team. Seems like it’s been forever we could say that.VQ Podcast Notes:
- Purdue has a lot of people out due to non-covid reasons
- Down WR1, WR2, and WR3 and they are not good at running the football
- AP said this game has the making of a thrashing
- Tennessee has been outscored in the 2nd Quarter 127-109
- In the 2nd Quarter, Tennessee is only converting 28% of the third downs
- While defensively they are giving up 48%
- In five games, Tennessee failed to convert a third down in the 2nd quarter
- In the other games combined, Tennessee has only failed to convert a third down 7 times in quarters 1,3, and 4
- Why is this? AP thinks other teams adjust and then Tennessee adjusts after halftime.
- This will be cornerback by committee for Alontae Taylor snaps
- AP thinks Baron is motivated and will have opportunities to make some big plays
- AP said there were times that Baron was healthy and the staff did not play him because they felt more comfortable with Byron Young
- Tennessee has not lost a bowl game since 2010 (LOL, I was there as a freshman in high school)
- Sounds like there might be some sickness issues with the basketball team (Not sure if it is COVID yet)
- Arizona probably had the best front line of any team we had played
- Tennessee did a great job rebounding against an Arizona team that is great at rebounding the ball
- Victor Bailey only played 1 minute against Arizona while Powell played 26 minutes
- Tennessee cannot let Alabama go crazy from 3
If we have a second 7 win season the negavols will be out screaming on the roof tops about how CJH is not an SEC caliber coach and we will never go anywhere with him or this style of offense.Still looking at a 7 or 8 win team next year IMO. Still won’t have the talent and depth to run with the big dogs in this league.
Maybe they're the same person?!

If it looks like this years 7-5, sign me up. Personally I had a blast this year and we all knew this thing had to be built and built right. So 8-4 would absolutely do it for me in Year 2. I think 9-3 is easily possible though, especially with the schedule being what it is.
7 wins should've been the realistic yr2 expectation from the beginning. If we have a second 7 win season the negavols will be out screaming on the roof tops about how CJH is not an SEC caliber coach and we will never go anywhere with him or this style of offense.
Nobody will be able to convince them about a depleted roster.
Couldn't even improve after having a full off-season with his system.
This is exactly the right attitude to have going into next year. Just because we overachieved this year doesn’t mean 7-5 next year is a step back. The roster still has holes, but we can be cautiously optimistic for 9-3 type of year.
Agreed but you know how this works. Anything to advance the negative agenda. They can't be positive. I don't know why they are even vol fans if you can't even try to look for the positives.7 wins should've been the realistic yr2 expectation from the beginning.
The manage expectations squad from VQ doing their thang as usual. Way to go out on that limb, guys. That will be $9.95. Thank you. I guess most of us on here could do that for free.
I guess aTm never actually beat Bama and the Barn really didn't go to OT with a bad back-up QB against them. It didn't happen against the best team in the SEC/nationally that we gave Hail to for 3 quarters that had the legend Saban losing his mind. Why should we hope for similar improvement in performance as other programs? We have permanent BVS and there is no cure.
Until there is a cure.
I sincerely doubt CJH/staff have 8 wins in mind. We will challenge UGA for the division title, and may win it IMO. I believe that is what Heup believes.
Stats, logic, schedule, and player by player roster analysis lead me there dependent upon Hooker staying healthy and the roster having a normal season injury wise. I see a 5-7 point improvement in point differential based on schedule as well as continuing scheme/player development. We replace the most winning team Ole Miss has ever had and its first round choice QB with a broken LSU who will be playing an inexperienced QB. We play a broken UF at home - the streak ends in a big way. Pitt is replacing their first round draft choice QB who nearly single handedly beat us along with the ACC officials in their pocket, with a transfer QB and us bringing SEC officials. Payback time. I don't think they can score at the level they did here and I think we will score at an equal or higher level.
I see 9+ regular season wins. That will be $9.95. Send it to nick for his game thread work. He needs it.
