With Hook and Tillman coming back, what’s the early prediction for next season

I agree with Ben...what kills me is that most of us have went blind with the optimism justifiably and understandably endeared by the good job the staff did this season, and have forgotten or minimized all those holes in the roster.

Getting to 9+ wins is going to be a chore (not impossible with this staff, but still a hard chore) for at least 2-3 years, and the same thing I said pre-season this year still holds true..every injury to starters and primary backups makes getting to that level even harder.

I will not say they can't do it quicker, but I understand the realities of the situation. I think the absolute worst thing that can happen for our future would be for unrealized expectations to become corrosive enough to destroy the hard won momentum that has built up.

We have a great possibility to return to our rightful place with Josh Heupel, but for us to get there we have to have patience enough to bear with them when they hit the inevitable(imo)bumps that are coming up.

Solid reply. Solid. Love that movie!

The manage expectations squad from VQ doing their thang as usual. Way to go out on that limb, guys. That will be $9.95. Thank you. I guess most of us on here could do that for free.

I guess aTm never actually beat Bama and the Barn really didn't go to OT with a bad back-up QB against them. It didn't happen against the best team in the SEC/nationally that we gave Hail to for 3 quarters that had the legend Saban losing his mind. Why should we hope for similar improvement in performance as other programs? We have permanent BVS and there is no cure.

Until there is a cure.

I sincerely doubt CJH/staff have 8 wins in mind. We will challenge UGA for the division title, and may win it IMO. I believe that is what Heup believes.

Stats, logic, schedule, and player by player roster analysis lead me there dependent upon Hooker staying healthy and the roster having a normal season injury wise. I see a 5-7 point improvement in point differential based on schedule as well as continuing scheme/player development. We replace the most winning team Ole Miss has ever had and its first round choice QB with a broken LSU who will be playing an inexperienced QB. We play a broken UF at home - the streak ends in a big way. Pitt is replacing their first round draft choice QB who nearly single handedly beat us along with the ACC officials in their pocket, with a transfer QB and us bringing SEC officials. Payback time. I don't think they can score at the level they did here and I think we will score at an equal or higher level.

I see 9+ regular season wins. That will be $9.95. Send it to nick for his game thread work. He needs it.
We’re about to get that same Super Senior bump next year that many programs saw this year. The way this whole thing fell with the additional year, but back to 85 next year is actually an advantage to us.

Agree! But I do think our players & coaches better not EXPECT a cake walk just because they have players out. If we come with right mindset, I think we should cover easily.

The thing I like about how we play is that on offense the tempo forces you into a next play/execution mindset.

On defense I think there will be plenty of energy just from some younger guys wanting to show something before heading into spring camp. We are losing at least 2 starters in the secondary and a few guys on the DL. So I'm sure we'll see quite a few younger players getting an opportunity to show what they can do.

If we have a second 7 win season the negavols will be out screaming on the roof tops about how CJH is not an SEC caliber coach and we will never go anywhere with him or this style of offense.

Nobody will be able to convince them about a depleted roster.

Couldn't even improve after having a full off-season with his system.
You have no idea how bad I am dreading that 😒 Injuries WILL happen, and if we have a real bad run of injury luck with multiple starters out...winning even 7 will a chore.

I do believe that with good injury luck for once (the lord knows we are due some) 9+ are definitely possible.

This is that classic non P5 team treating it as a “program changer” while the mid pack P5 team doesn’t give a crap about the bowl. I expect Houston to steamroll Auburn, not just beat them.
Yep...SEC teams suck in these kinds of games. If AU was going out there pissed off and wanting to prove something it would be different.

Pate has been posting his picks for 2 seasons and leans 100% on his model that he uses. He hosts an Instagram Live every Friday night and he'll walk you through win probabilities for each team/game if you ask him. He's all-in on his system and model. Last year it was 60%+ which is really good. This year it's still high-50's. While I don't agree with his Purdue pick, and he might not either, if his model likes a side he just bets it.
I would like to know why his "model" is picking them..what does it see that we don't?
