Would be awesome to hang 60 on the board. 59-13, šŸ˜†. . . the score keeps getting crazier in my mind the closer we get to kick-off.
Are you all ready for the announcer's storylines about this poor, gritty, undermanned heavy underdog Purdue team standing toe to toe with Tennessee from the mighty SEC?

That storyline will last about 12 minutes of football time after we go up 28-3 with 3 minutes remaining in the first quarter.

This stuff is making me nervous...my well entrenched BVS is screaming at me that NOTHING is ever that easy for us. I hope we blow them out, but I am not going to expect it...I would have been happy with a 31-20 win...BUT...now we almost have to win huge because expectations are so high...I can almost hear the nine month long corrosive bitch-fest we will have to endure..šŸ˜–

If it looks like this years 7-5, sign me up. Personally I had a blast this year and we all knew this thing had to be built and built right. So 8-4 would absolutely do it for me in Year 2. I think 9-3 is easily possible though, especially with the schedule being what it is.
Iā€™d like to see 8-4. This is the most Iā€™ve enjoyed a Tennessee football season in a long time.

I think we put them down like we did Iowa a few years ago.

Only reason it would be a disappointment is because of how well we actually did this year. If we had won only 5 or 6, not so much. Over achieving could cause a pitchfork event.
We did over exceed my expectations but ultimately we were much closer to 9-3 than 5-7.

Schedule is easier and we return a lot. Roster should be better overall. 7 wins means we lose to Pitt, who is replacing their Heisman finalist QB, or go 3-5 in the SEC.

JMO but would be a disappointment.

My wife rolled her ankle and broke he fibula. Primary care doctor gave her a boot and pain meds and sent her on the way. Any of you guys/gals have any advice on what we should or shouldn't be doing.

Ask her if this means she won't be cooking dinner tonight. Her anger towards you will drown out any pain

The manage expectations squad from VQ doing their thang as usual. Way to go out on that limb, guys. That will be $9.95. Thank you. I guess most of us on here could do that for free.

I guess aTm never actually beat Bama and the Barn really didn't go to OT with a bad back-up QB against them. It didn't happen against the best team in the SEC/nationally that we gave Hail to for 3 quarters that had the legend Saban losing his mind. Why should we hope for similar improvement in performance as other programs? We have permanent BVS and there is no cure.

Until there is a cure.

I sincerely doubt CJH/staff have 8 wins in mind. We will challenge UGA for the division title, and may win it IMO. I believe that is what Heup believes.

Stats, logic, schedule, and player by player roster analysis lead me there dependent upon Hooker staying healthy and the roster having a normal season injury wise. I see a 5-7 point improvement in point differential based on schedule as well as continuing scheme/player development. We replace the most winning team Ole Miss has ever had and its first round choice QB with a broken LSU who will be playing an inexperienced QB. We play a broken UF at home - the streak ends in a big way. Pitt is replacing their first round draft choice QB who nearly single handedly beat us along with the ACC officials in their pocket, with a transfer QB and us bringing SEC officials. Payback time. I don't think they can score at the level they did here and I think we will score at an equal or higher level.

I see 9+ regular season wins. That will be $9.95. Send it to nick for his game thread work. He needs it.

Iā€™m excited about next season, too. Will SEC teams adjust to Heupelā€™s system now that there is a full season of his systemā€™s footage in SEC play? Will other teams key in and take advantage, or will Heupel be able to do more in year 2 to counter their adjustments?

Thatā€™s my biggest question for next year.

From the way they talk they haven't even begun to open the playbook yet.So I fully expect year 2 to be exciting barring some unforeseen events.

So his tweet would get tons of interaction from #VolTwitter

rinse and repeat, it's really bad cause even our own local media does this clickbait BS
Pate isn't really that bad about this kind of stuff. His betting plays/tweets usually get enough engagement on their own.

I don't disagree about your point on the media (national and local) on the whole, though. When in doubt, poke the Vols.

Agree! But I do think our players & coaches better not EXPECT a cake walk just because they have players out. If we come with right mindset, I think we should cover easily.

Houston steamed from +2.5 to -1.5 these past couple of days. Lotta money against Auburn. Think this is all public.

This is that classic non P5 team treating it as a ā€œprogram changerā€ while the mid pack P5 team doesnā€™t give a crap about the bowl. I expect Houston to steamroll Auburn, not just beat them.

I would be surprised and impressed if Harsin gets Auburn to take this game seriously.

But Holgo rarely takes any bowl games seriously.

Could be a mess of a game with some halftime potential. If they're scoring like crazy first half, take the 2nd half under. If they come out sluggish, take the 2nd half over.

It's just 1 pick lmao. I'm sure the simple reasoning is "Too many points to lay to an 8-4 Purdue team".

Pate has been posting his picks for 2 seasons and leans 100% on his model that he uses. He hosts an Instagram Live every Friday night and he'll walk you through win probabilities for each team/game if you ask him. He's all-in on his system and model. Last year it was 60%+ which is really good. This year it's still high-50's. While I don't agree with his Purdue pick, and he might not either, if his model likes a side he just bets it.
