I have always wanted..ALWAYS..wanted a playoff, I have always hated the bowl system. What is happening now isn't because of playoffs, it is because this is a generation of pussy followers. If it was still a dumbass popularity contes like it was in the old days, Alabama, OSU, UGA and Clemson/Oklahoma would still be in the Championship game every year.Walk me through it, then. Is Cincinatti all of a sudden going to get five stars from Georgia and Florida now that they made it? Where did Clemson go? Natural downfall. It’s broken at the top, more playoff games is like some futile government program that doesnt focus on the problem. It’s coming though. We have fun bowl games already.
My wife's cousins live outside LA, was talking with one of them the other day and their father, an accountant to the music industry and booster claims this was part of the pitch, and the selling point to bring Lincoln to USC.I think the moneyball in S Cal is going to try to buy everybody. Including SEC linemen, if they can pull it off.
I just don't see how we can get that kind of talent unless we can beat them with lesser talent. We don't have the money guys to get involved like A&M does I don't believe
NIL will make it worse. The transfer rule will make it easier for the rich to pluck the best established talent. The best of college football is behind us and it's depressing. It’s just so sad how stale and boring the college football product has become. Playoff expansion isn’t going to save it. NIL won’t save it either. The talent gap is just so stark between the tip top and everyone else. Its really unfortunate that the regular season is 20x more exciting than the “playoffs”.
