The other thing I've been struggling with the last hour is that I'm a male. This girl just watched a male murder her mom then take his life. I can't believe I was so stupid not to think of this before. She would probably have benefited from being with my wife first. Can't believe I didn't think of this before now. Regardless we've made progress and it would completely go against the point of quarantine to turn her over to my wife who is the most succeptable to covid in the house.

That could have easily backfired too. If the dog had bonded with your wife she might've been extremely protective of her and never trusted you. Like, "I'm not letting it happen again!". In this way, she's forced to trust you and recognize you aren't the human that hurt mom.

Now one player is getting better than $1M. You'll have the same 4-5 teams purchase all the players. College football as we know it will never come back. Parity while not great now, will cease to exist. TN will be hurt very badly.

I know some of you are better at attacks and knee jerk reactions but there are points to be made here.
Coach Scott and the Defense did not play well, especially in the Bowl.
Firing is not the only answer to remedy a situation. Some fans seem to have difficulty with that.
There were issues in both talent and game management. Both need to be addressed.
There will likely be changes, adjustments, additions to the Defensive Scheme as time with current players and an upgrade in talent allows.
If there is no improvement in Year 2, Coach Heupel will likely make the necessary staff adjustments. If you are going to relieve someone of their duties you need to have someone already in place.
Jared Verse, for whom this thread is named, is the type of talent that makes coaches a whole lot better.

Those are volume stats though and we obviously will defend more plays because of our offense. In fact we were 127th in plays defended out of 130 teams. Unfortunately half of that equation was also on our defense due to 3rd down d, but the rest is just tempo of course.

Need efficiency stats to see an apples to apples comparison. For instance, our run D per rush is 38th. Pass D is 53rd YPA. Overall YPP 51st. Up from 76th in 2020 under the "guru".

You're right about RZ and 3rd down though. "Situational football" killed us with an otherwise pretty decent defense. And, sadly, I believe (jmo) situational football comes back to coaching. The D coaches have got to fix those things.

And when you get to specialization of situational football, that is where we were lacking big time.
we have ONE Legit pass rusher.
One legit LB.
One Legit Outside CB, and ONE nickel.
Everyone else is a guy who’d be good depth at any other top 25 school.

Want to dominate in dime? How? With what DBs? Want to get off the field in 3rd and long? With what pass rush?
Want to dominate upfront in short yardage? With what guys?

This next year isn’t going to be that much better either but here’s to hoping the young guys play early enough to hold us down for our November run.

How will one of the richest schools with one of the most valuable fan bases be hurt by introducing money? If anything it should be helping us.

Is that not what I said? Individual players are now getting north of a million. The old million is the new $10M. Not many can come up with that kind of money. Our booster pool isn't that deep.

Because we don't have the boosters to put $10m into NIL deals. It's that simple. We've got a great fan base but so does a lot of schools. A great fan base doesn't necessarily equate to huge NIL deals.
