Because we don't have the boosters to put $10m into NIL deals. It's that simple. We've got a great fan base but so does a lot of schools. A great fan base doesn't necessarily equate to huge NIL deals.

Knoxville needs to find a way to tap into Nashville money. If they can we can compete. It's that simple.

Oh I agree. Two types of NIL. Legitimate ROI businesses that will want to capitalize on fame of a UT football player. Then you have the NIL deal simply to purchase said player with no expectations of ROI. Probably will never even hear about them. Perfectly legal. That's where we lack resources.

Then you have the portal. Basically free agency. They'll be going to the highest bidder.
