How quick do you bench someone? Bad series…. Bad game…. Rotate every play….. I have played and coached sports my entire life….. it’s extremely hard for me to have faith in a guy that can’t get it done in practice. I would have given him this shot today and have no problem going to hooker until he struggles…. Keep working Milton in practice bc he has the most upside.

He needs a ton of coaching. Too confident in his deep ball. He can throw it a mile, but he has to actually have someone in the vicinity to catch it. Has zero accuracy and zero touch. Not ideal traits for a QB.

Lol comparing a 5th year senior to a (young Dobbs)
His development passing and running is about the same as Dobbs when he was a sophomore in 2015. I’m not sure how that is hard to understand unless reading comprehension is lacking. He’s not better than Dobbs was that year. Probably won’t get to Dobbs circa 2016….thus the 2015 comparison. Erratic on some throws. Electric runs to move the chains. Will make mistakes and throw some to the other team. Pretty simple to understand really.

No reason for me to back up and do anything just because you are both wrong and apparently a jerk. If your interpretation is correct, and I don't believe it is, then it is another example of a rule that TN has to suffer through to get fixed, circa UNC in the Music City Bowl and that piece of crap Alama Matthews & Jabar Gaffney, the team missing a field goal cannot regain possession because of a post miss penalty. That goes against every change of possession rule in football.

What should have happened? It was a live ball! The ball was never going back to the 38 unless Theo got tackled at that spot. Period. So, that leaves you with what?

My scenario.

Now what you got? The refs should have taken us half the distance to the goal and then tacked on 10 yards for Pitt’s penalty, leaving us at our own 15? You’re pretty much out of options at this point.

Also, name calling is a very public way of admitting you can’t defend your argument.

Honestly, under this coaching staff I think Shrout would be a “gamer.” When he was actually given time on the field I thought he was better than HB or JG. Call me crazy.
He might have been but he definitely hadn’t proven it on the field yet.

I’m not impressed either.
Exactly. Not good. Should have won.

We played really poor football with turnovers and penalties and bad refs and almost tied it up in the 4th.

That’s a bad team. We are worse until we figure out our QB1.
They had the better QB. Simple as that. Most college games come down to this.

Why does it seem that its always "if" when you talk about your boy Milton? How about "if" he didn't fumble, "if" he actually he a wide open Tillman?
He is not my boy…. I was just stating he wasn’t as bad as people think nor was hooker as good…. We still have to get competent QB play.

A bit extreme regarding Hooker. He was 15/21. Hardly inaccurate. DB made a great read running all the way across the field on a developing combo route when UT had to press behind late and with no running game…

It wasn't meant to be serious :) I think we can win with any of the 3, just need 1 to separate from the rest.

We honestly lost to Pitt…. Our hopes of 6 wins are dead. Anyone saying they are a “good” team is delusional. They’re a 5-7 team in the SEC.

I still think we beat at least one team we’re not supposed to. I’m really frustrated that we lost today but gosh, if you gave me the stats along with the list of players out/injured without giving the final score, I would think we lost by at least three touchdowns. The fact that we only lost by 7 is intriguing to me. It might not mean anything but in the past we lose that game by much more.

Plus I’m still not very impressed by KY or Mizzou and USCjr is simply not good. They lose to Pitt by 20+ easy.

I really went into the game with zero expectations. But they started to rise as the game went on. Thats one positive.

With Milton i truly believe we are capable of scoring on any given play. He has not come through though. The good news is the deep ball is consistently open if he can just land it. Hooker rarely even tried it. The one Milton threw to Hyatt early was on the money. But he seems to get in his head after one miss and it causes him to press. We were in position to step on their throats early and he let them off the hook (pun intended). I can see why you might give him another shot though. If he connects early that is an entirely different game and we may have run away with it. I also feel like our tempo game looks much better and faster with Milton.

Hooker was a warrior. Got smashed on that one play and delivered a perfect ball to Warren. His legs add a different dynamic. Much more dangerous runner than Milton. But i definitely dont feel like we can score any given play. We have to play more methodical. Reminds me of Dobbs. I do feel like he came in and gave us a chance. But similar to the Dobbs era it wasnt always enough. I would be okay rolling with him if need be. But i still prefer the offense under Milton and want to see if he starts getting it eventually.

I like the idea of Bailey too. But I'm assuming he's not ready or he would be in the mix. I have other thoughts on the game but this is getting long and the QB conversation is dominating my mind at the moment.

Either way. Today was heartbreaking, as usual. Tired of losing like everybody else. But excited to see how this team grows.

Go big orange forever
