NIL played a major role in every single one of the guys I mentioned singing. We don’t suck at NIL. People just need to realize where our program is and be realistic about who we could’ve signed this year.

We weren’t going to buy the Nolen’s multiple houses and make a huge payroll class this year.

When Nico is in the 2023 class, tell me how bad the NIL here is.

I have no inside info, but this is what I sensed was happening this recruiting cycle. Similarly, the meeting with Evans (TCU) that apparently we did not meet his NIL expectations….

I think Heupel, Danny White, the entire program, made the decision to not meet the demands of the higher profile recruits. Let those guys walk, and build with guys who are less mercenary in their approach.

I didn’t feel like we were being “out bid” as much as we weren’t willing to engage in the bidding wars.

In the long run, you lose out on some talent, but you continue to build a good culture. The bidding war stuff ended up having a bad culture twice, with Butch and Pruitt.

I’m not sweating missing on guys like Nolen, or even the alleged NPA connections. Go get kids that help you continue building a healthy culture.

Feels like football may be taking a page out of Rick Barnes’ method… INAM

The straw man argument suggests that you just make **** up. You suggest things that no one said.

I have no idea if he is good or not. TBD. He was roughly average this year with a couple of games being bad and 3rd down conversions being below average. I can also acknowledge that personnel had something to do with the performance. So, I will see what he can do next year with some other talent.

You have trouble with this. No one has said we were good on defense. You get pushed on why and make it personal or make **** up.

Yep, I’m Making stuff up
Still don’t know why I can’t say he was bad this year but whatever, keep your agenda going….

I tip my glass to you sir for doing everything your saying I’m doing….. good day pot, have you met kettle…..
I can’t compete with you, “the king straw man”
Keep banging your own drum though….

It seems like CJH is playing the long game more so than butch and Pruitt were. They were looking to sign guys that brought a lot of attention with their stars, but a lot of the time, weren’t good fits. We are going to have to have more patience

Pruitt just wanted out of here.

I don't like being critical much, but this is fantasy land. For one, we'd have to have every recruit be a stud, and two, we'd have to have an enormous amount of defensive scholarships to be that deep. We aren't going to recruit like bama and Georgia any time soon, so this kind of thinking is unrealistic at best. And if we did, we'd still wear them out with the pace our offense sets. In the Kentucky game alone, how long was our defense on the field? 43 minutes or something?

Did you MISS the part where it would take 5-6 YEARS. READ BETTER NEXT TIME.

Put 6 neon tetras in my 10 gallon tank with my Betta today. According to the internet, that's a good tank mate for a Better. 8 hours later and all but 2 have been killed.

My betta
This dude bites them and then just lets them die. Doesn't even eat them. He's killing for sport
thats what they do - nickname is Siamese fighting fish. When I was growing up, Dad and I had six or seven tropical fish tanks. We kept a betta in his own tank next to the others!

@Bassmaster_Vol males also eat their babies as they are born!
