Always wanted to be TWRA officer.

Perhaps there arent enough of them. Perhaps they're underpaid. Having dealt with them (much better in TN than neighboring states), they seems wildly ill mannered. Ive called several times to report injured wildlife. Received one callback from an annoyed warden. Gave him info on hurt deer and moved on.

Try to do the right thing regardless. Crazy a bird of prey cant be helped.

Best thing to do is make friends with a local wildlife rehabber. They arent in it for the money rest assured. Also, financial help is best for them.

There is one here in Tri Cities...that I know of. They are excellent people. Other than that you may try calling Bays Mtn, they have a Raptor program - if you live close by.

Wynnwood Wildlife Rehab Facility in Stoney Crick TN

So yer sayin that the folks doing it for the money weren't very nice, but the folks doing it for the love of the thing do a better job and seem to enjoy it more. Interesting.

Write it down, and remember who told you. Georgia will beat Alabama in the rematch. People hate what they’re afraid of. Everyone on this board is afraid of Georgia and what they’re capable of. No, that doesn’t mean I’m a Georgia fan. I pull for them to lose every week, including against the Tide. Tennessee is going to have to take it up several notches on the recruiting trail if we’re even going to have a chance to beat either one in the next 10 years.

We’re well aware how big the gap is between us and the SEC tier 1 schools. We aren’t going to out recruit them right now, but need to out scheme them on gameday. For the first time ever I actually think we have a staff who can do so.

Each class starting with ‘23 will have to start closing that gap though. We seem to have some momentum there and if it continues then this program is going to look a lot different in the next 2 to 3 years.

man if we miss in the portal 🤦🏼‍♂️
The Portal is just like the available women in a honky-tonk on a Saturday night in a country song.

Sometimes, even if you've caught the eye of the hottest mama there that night, you're better off just going home alone.

If Heupel doesn't find any players he wants in the portal this year, at least the trailer will still be intact Sunday morning.

I'll add two caveats to this...

1. We have to be as good or better at player development than the tier 1 schools. This is the one area we've lacked the most among previous staffs. Top 15 or 10 classes can't take you anywhere if you're not developing the talent.
2. Attrition has to slow down to a crawl, we're already behind the 8-ball and the way things are setup now it's hard to flip a roster quickly or to replenish one. So we have to be able to maintain more of the classes we recruit, top 10 class where more than 40% of the players don't stay past the first year won't help us.

23 has to be a top 7 class. Need to get that class rating over 90

You lost me at available women...at envisioning a bar.

Ugh, thank God for marriage.

We’re not out scheming Nick Saban and Kirby Smart, brother. Especially not Saban. Not beating either one of those programs if your players aren’t as good as theirs are. I’ve been hearing the old “for the first time in forever, we finally have the coaches that can hang with this one or that one on gameday” spill for over a decade. For starters, no we haven’t, and secondly, that’s not how it works in this league.

Absolutely. Development and player retention will both be key.
