They also didn’t get a QB commit in this class. They did get Max Johnson from the warmed meatloaf section of the portal but I don’t think he is it. QB position had been their Achilles heel before and since Manziel and it looks like it will continue to be an issue….
They did get a QB commit. A 5* QB. Connor Weigman.

On the pod AP said we have 7 spots open for transfers: Edge (Verse), RB, OT, WR, and 3 DB’s. Hubbs questioned him about RB and AP said we WILL take a transfer RB.
Not sure why you take a RB unless it's a game-changing RB. Also, if we miss on Verse (really hoping we don't) are we still looking for an Edge? I agree we need another OT and WR on offense. On defense, I agree with others you take a LB, provided there's a good one out there. And yes on the 3 DBs. I even wouldn't mind one more DL. But I don't think you take anyone just to add a body. They have to be able to contribute.

Ya added 2 RBs via class (Williams & Sampson), lost Evans and if the shoulder injuries are true for Small he may miss time with surgery/recovery. Also a chance they want Sampson to move to WR with his speed/size.
Whitehead could move to LB and Beckwith could also move positions if he doesn't show something more entering year 3.

So I can see taking a transfer RB if he's got more than a season left OR is a known value if he's only coming in for one season.

I don't think we see Whitehead change positions. Hopefully Small get surgery, rehabs, and is back by the Fall. I think Sampson is a RB that will be versatile, able to line up outside if needed. I think you take a RB if they're a game-changer, otherwise, I think we're set there.

Next year (assuming Hendo/Tillman are healthy) which of these records for a single season/game do you think goes down?

Passing (season)
325 completions (Ainge - 2007)
519 attempts (Ainge - 2007)
3819 yards (Peyton - 1997)
36 TDs (Peyton - 1997)

Receiving (season)
76 receptions (Nash -1997)
1298 yards (Meachem - 2006)
13 TDs (Nash - 1997)

Passing (single game)
37 completions (Bray - 2012)
65 attempts (Manning - 1996)
530 yards (Bray - 2012)
7 TDs (Ainge - 2007)

Receiving (single game)
13 receptions (Pickens - 1990)
256 yards (Washington - 2001)
3 TDs (Many)

I’ll go with single season receiving TDs. He’s going to be by far the main deep pass and red zone target next season unless we land a good WR transfer.

I don’t think it means that at all….. I feel like our program has been an absolute mess and kids are hesitant to come here until we prove we have our sh$t together….A lot of our fans are wanting us to go from 3 win being on probation to Alabama…. Georgia in a season…. We are building a solid foundation and as more confidence grows in what we are doing….. the more kids will notice and want to join.

As for our boosters…. I don’t blame them for being hesitant with as much of their money UT has wasted over the years…. Look at baseball…. TV gave everyone a reason to be excited and more money flew into that program than had happened in years. We have one of the best ADs in the country…. It feels like everyone is starting to push in the same direction…. All of our programs appear to be growing and headed in the right direction…. I’m excited about UT athletics for the first time in years.

This makes me feel better. Just need patience, which after the last decade is in short supply.

UT is working with Spyre on NILs, but finding players who fit what UT needs and matching deals to that is a complex process. Spyre's leadership is a group of UT alums, but the company is not part of the university-- it's a vendor partner. UT's role is clarification and compliance, not donor commitments. Spyre and other affiliates build the deals, offer opportunities and create sponsorships and endorsements, using outside funding secured by the agencies, not UTAD.
This separation makes sense. @LA Vol is it a correct assumption that any donor funding into UTAD will still have tax advantages and pumped directly into the program (facilities, salaries) while keeping the NIL managed externally absolves the UTAD from any potential misappropriation of funds?

LB room right now without moving anyone around and with incoming freshmen.

OLB/DL
Byron Young - 6'3" 235
Tyler Baron - 6'5" 260
Roman Harrison - 6'2" 240
James Pearce - 6'5" 220
Joshua Josephs - 6'3" 215

ILB
Juwan Mitchell - 6'1" 226
Kwauze Garland - 6'1" 220
William Mohan - 6'1" 210
Bryson Eason - 6'3" 290
Aaron Beasley - 6'1" 225
Jeremy Banks - 6'1" 224
Solon Page III - 6'2" 223
Aaron Willis - 6'1" 225
Elijah Herring - 6'3" 230
Kalib Perry - 6'4" 215

Incoming guys all have great size and speed, I really like what we got here. Think Pearce/Josephs both can have early impacts and by year 3 I think Herring or Perry both could be big time contributors. Our success IMO with this group next season comes down to how good are Willis, Mohan, Eason (should be able to RS this year). Mitchell/Page both were seniors but I think both can return.
Put Eason in OLB....
Edit: also we know Page is returning and Mitchell seems to be the same based on a recent instagram post
