In regard to my criticisms - I am not and will not be "out" on Heup until he proves to be Dools/Botch/Cornbread cringeworthy. I hope that never happens and he becomes a Vol legend. He does many things very well.
That said, he has done the one thing that the others messed up - select the wrong starting QB. He even re-recruited the guy who passed on him and had lost his job at Michigan. That's like going after the gal you lusted over in high school who has lost her shine after she rejected you and chased another guy, married him, and got divorced. It's probably not going to work out well the second time around unless she makes major changes and you accept the flaws. You are different people than you were in high school. Unfortunately, Heup apparently was not attracted to either one of the three "girls next door" in his own locker room. So, here we are. Again.
That game changes 180 degrees if Milton hits a few of those passes in the first quarter. It almost changed if they run the right play on 4th and a foot. Forget the screwing by the ACC officials - our SEC officials do that to us nearly every game. Despite all that we were one competent QB playing the entire game and maybe one play from winning with so many missing players. To win here, Heup needs to reassess his personal wants and go with the team's needs.
