Thought our defense looked good while playing man coverage. We went zone and WRs started sitting down in open space. When we pressured that QB we rattled him. They started rolling the pocket and found success.

He needs to fix that too. This isnt the AAC and you arent going to make a very good living off doing that. Like Callaway showed yesterday, sometimes you just gotta get your athletes out in space on the permitter. Or like Bama did with Davontae throw over the middle and let them run.

He throws short too like they did with Calloway. It’s all about numbers. It can be effective, but obviously the QB execution is important. I thought the scheming yesterday was great. Pitt plays mostly man in the secondary, so there were opportunities. It’s why we ran more against BG because they were dropping more and playing 2 deep safeties.

UK and Mizzou are Ls. SC will be a pick’em with the attrition we’ll go through during the season. Only TN Tech, S. Alabama and Vandy are sure fire Ws. 5-7 at best.

It's funny to me how it's a forgone conclusion that any team not named UT will improve during the year, but despite the fact that our offense is clearly better than last year, in the first year of a new staff and new system, some can't enjoy the progress so far and expect more in the future.

It's often the same people who have "lost confidence in Heupel" because he hasn't yet used the QB that you are convinced (with zero evidence) would win the Heisman...AFTER 2 GAMES.

It's a rebuild. It's gonna take more than 2 games. It may take more than 2 years. You pine for guys like Mark Stoops, but completely ignore that fact it took him years to get to a bowl game. He wouldn't be doing any better than Heupel, and of course you'd lose confidence in him too.

You complain that Neyland isn't full, but are the same people saying you'll never go back.

It's no wonder coaches don't want to stay here. Opposing fans need not troll, we troll ourselves better than they ever could.

You justify it with BVS, but Coach Majors was right, we truly are the Legion of the Miserable. Pathetic.

Agreed...I will be there first chance I get. We have to give these guys time. I am encouraged by the fact that with so much going wrong yesterday..we still had a good chance to win. It took everything going their way to barely beat us.

If Pruitt is still here that is a devastating blowout.

Seats are empty because UT is having trouble selling tix even with creative packaging and bargain bin prices. A lot of season tix holders can't even give them away. My parents had six to give away outside Neyland and no one wanted them. My dad left them outside the stadium with a note. No one used them.

Fan and donor apathy has been growing for a while. COVID has cloaked it. If you're looking for a silver lining, families who want to take their kids to a game can benefit from cheap or free tix.

Literally was about to post the same verbatim after a sleep on it.
We just aren’t there yet depth wise, ans it’s going to take 2 more solid recruiting cycles.
Love the effort I saw yesterday for 60 minutes. A Pruitt team would have laid down in the 3rd.
It’s been mentioned, but a couple bad timeouts and the 4th ans 1 call was all I really noticed as horribly bad coaching mistakes.
Gotta find consistency at QB moving forward!! Shore up the oline, and LB pass coverage over the middle. Do all that and we will make a bowl which would be a great thing this year!

I am not as down as many I see on here, IF we can find a consistent passing game and get healthy.
I think a lot of our Oline issues started with Coop being out and Ollie facing that stud Pitt lineman. Milton had time to throw as evidenced by all those deep shots.

I like Miltons arm but man…. If he can’t hit those open guys…. Ugh. You could tell however that Pitt played differently on defense when Hooker was in. They didn’t have to worry about the deep ball anymore.

This 100 percent and why I still want to see a healthy Milton. They have to respect he might can hit it. Can't play as much press coverage and just creates tons of opportunities and he can still hurt with his legs. You got to keep running with him if he is healthy. I could be wrong but after watching two games live, you just see it. OL has to do better.

I’m ashamed of volnation….. we talk a big game but don’t back it up….. we expect extreme commitment and loyalty from our players but can’t be bothered to show up and support them…. The crowd yesterday was embarrassing and could have made a difference in the game.

You shouldn’t be surprised though. Year after year the AD sold a bill of goods and never delivered. There’s very little benefit of the doubt left in the fanbase. They’ve been taken advantage of for too long and should consider themselves lucky to get 70k a game after all of this. If Florida was going through this mess they’d have 25k per game.

You shouldn’t be surprised though. Year after year the AD sold a bill of goods and never delivered. There’s very little benefit of the doubt left in the fanbase. They’ve been taken advantage of for too long and should consider themselves lucky to get 70k a game after all of this. If Florida was going through this mess they’d have 25k per game.

Fans have been doing their best to build a program up when the rest of the university wasn’t committed to winning. Apathy tends to set in when teams lose for more than a decade and can’t beat their rivals. It was a beautiful day with COVID concerns lingering

That’s a false narrative….. the university has been trying to win but just continually make bad hires…. We finally went out and got one of the best in the business to run the athletic department….
our fans have not been doing their best…. We are known more for raising h&ll then anything supportive….. I haven’t sit in my actual seats in years bc people would rather stay at the house…. First game…. I was front row at the 50 yard line of the second part on the lower level…. The Pitt game I went under the overhang for shade…we are not freaking Vandy fans…. We need to show up and show out to help us win and recruit.

Even I get that...I swear though the dude could have had four hundred yards yesterday if he was accurate and wasn't field blind as f'n bat. Milton is the opposite of a gamer...but IF IF IF the light ever comes on...whew boy it would be amazing to watch.

I've lost all confidence in Heupel, everybody on VN can see he picked the wrong QB. At least, Pruitt was a defensive coach, but Heupel's speciality is the offense and QB and he can't see it, I'm almost speechless. I always say the coaches know more than me, but I don't know, anymore, I knew JG sucked, early and I knew Milton sucked earlier. But apparently, our last 2 coaches need to see the "Suckitude" longer than I do. Sorry, I just can't put up with the sh!t anymore. I will still live and die with every play, but it's not going to ruin my day, weekend, week, anymore.

You and KPT need to get some more beers to cry into. Come on, we are two games in.

If I was a talented HS QB and I watched that game...I would be wanting that opportunity.
