Disappointed.
I get it but we scored 34 points with quarterbacks you say suck and that was with losing possession with three turnovers. Our defense actually played pretty good considering the spots they were put in. Depth is most certainly an issue but we knew it would be. We were down several starters and still were in the game up to the end. Yes, we lost but there's a lot of positives to find in that loss. Still work to do? Absolutely! Doesn't mean there aren't a lot of positives as well.

I’m ashamed of volnation….. we talk a big game but don’t back it up….. we expect extreme commitment and loyalty from our players but can’t be bothered to show up and support them…. The crowd yesterday was embarrassing and could have made a difference in the game.
I was there and thought the turnout would be better too. Looked like 70 something k to me. I as disappointed but I understand it. People like me who get up and have to drive 4 or more hours, spending 12 or more hours of your day, not to mention money for a mediocre product is a hard sell.

Not really, every SEC team not named Scar or Vandy will just lean on us and wear us out. Add in a turnover or two on offense, which both QB's I see having at least one a game, we dont have a good recipe for this season.
I think we tend to overrate SEC teams bc of the conference designation….. Both teams would have been in a fight with Pitt today….. Pitt is one of the most physical teams we will play this season.

As bad as Miltons overthrows are, the worst one was Hooker yesterday.

Y’all remember that throw to the sideline!? Holy hell lol

I definitely saw why Milton was starting over Hooker. If Milton could get on page with WRs deep ball this offense would be dangerous. The one he threw to Hyatt was on money to start game.

Yeah definitely aren’t gonna get butts in seats until we start actually winning instead of getting demolished by our main rivals and almost squeaking out wins against the Pitts, UK and BYUs of the world

And I also don’t want to hear a damn thing about a players effort sucks or any complaining about a game being moved from Saturday to a Thursday ever again from this fan base. These kids asked for a sellout push and you had less people at this game than that Thursday night game you whined like babies about because you couldn’t get there in a Thursday ona freaking holiday weekend. Against a worse opponent too. This was the first Saturday game against a good solid opponent. It was the best game to go to already out of the three home games to start season because you don’t get another until South Carolina comes to town as TN tech is not one to get all riled up about. Piss poor effort by fans

After 15 years of this the fans are more than doing their part. The fact that we still have as many fans as we did there yesterday, and the noise, atmosphere, Vol Walk ect were so great is actually one of the better efforts put forth by the fans when put into proper context, IMO.

White, Heupel, ect…aren’t to blame, and it isn’t their fault, but the fans are rightfully apathetic. We aren’t buying yet another vision by another coach. Results will have to come this time. It is what it is.

I drove four hours as well….. There were plenty of free/cheap tickets for anyone around the knoxville area to attend……it’s just hypocritical, imo to complain when we can’t do our part to build the program up.

Some thoughts from X2:

- we play 3 more teams that are comparable to Pitt this year - Mizzou, Ole Miss, Kentucky. We need to win 2 of those.

- Milton missed too many throws. The one Hyatt couldn’t hang on to was perfect though.

- why did we run a play with 20 seconds left in the first half instead of taking a knee? We handed off to Jabari Small, and he got up holding his collar bone area — if he broke it, we may not see him again this season. How incredibly wasteful and stupid. If you aren’t going to try to score, take a knee. We got our starting RB hurt on a meaningless play. I feel so bad for Small.

- Tyler Baron is already the best player on our D. Maybe the best player on our team. He is going to make some money playing this game.

- Kenny Pickett played really well - the kind of consistent and smart quarterbacking we’ve been missing since Dobbs graduated. There are a few reasons we lost — turnovers and penalties especially - but Pickett is why Pitt was able to win.

- Where are Beckwith and Whitehead? What does 4th and inches look like if either one of them had gotten an opportunity? How can both of them not be ready to play?

- Hooker looked okay but gave the ball away 2x. We can’t win that way. We can’t win with Milton missing wide open receivers and putting the ball on the ground either. We don’t have a competent QB right now. We have guys that have tools and show flashes, but not a full QB right now. We need a Kenny Pickett.

- The Pride of the Southland barely exists now during the game. We see them in pregame and at halftime, but during the game they are basically relegated to just being fans sitting in uniforms holding instruments. We play awful music over the loudspeakers the whole game. Most of the pomp and pageantry that make the live game experience so fun have been put on the back burner, and in their stead, we get DJs and blurry sounding hip hop music over a sound system that isn’t capable of playing it in a clean sounding way.

- concessions and beer stand lines were awful. They need more and they need to merge beer sales into the regular concessions lines. It shouldn’t take 20 minutes in the beer line and then 15 minutes in the vol dog line. You want more people in the stadium? Make it easier to get beer and food in them. You are competing with their 70 inch tv, stocked refrigerator and air conditioning. Make the in game experience more convenient and comfortable for your fans, and you’ll get more butts in seats.

Keepers: getting the TEs involved, our team speed, Tyler Baron, our D’s grittiness, our Special Teams play, stadium fan support/energy,

Trash: the officiating!, the 4th and inches play call, getting Small injured on a meaningless play, Milton’s deep ball accuracy, Jaylen Wright up the gut, QB shovel passes, the stadium sound system, the stadium music selections, the beer lines.

Ole miss is going to boat race us

Stoops built UK on bully ball, i actually usually chalk them up as an auto win, but not this year. Mizzou can go score for score with JH, but again has better defensive depth.

South Carolina barely eeked out a win against East Carolina. LSU only beat McNeese 34-7 (compared to our win over BG 38-6). A&M beat Colorado by 3.

I think your momma dropped you on your head one too many times as a child.

The Sec has 1 great team. Best in country. 1 really good team that does have vulnerability. And I don’t trust any of the rest.

You know. Just like last year

Nebraska still packs their stadium. Michigan still packs theirs.

There ain’t no way in hell I’m spending money on that product. And yes, the team is a “product” to consume, especially since they want to get paid now. UT football is a bad investment aside from tuning into a couple of quarters on TV. There is nothing about the live game “experience” that is better than watching it at home.

There are lots of things from yesterday I could not believe...except we are the Vols and that explains it.

And that is what is infuriating and continuing to be unacceptable. There has been no changed outside of a glimmer of hope produced by Butch.
17 years since this program and even the university were respectable.

People are tired of wasting time and money on a program that doesn’t want to fix itself.

Terrible coaching decision after terrible coaching decision. There is no way it is possible to have four coaches who make the same terrible decisions.

The 4th and inches at the goal line yesterday was the same terrible outcome we have seen across four coaching staffs. You give the ball to your smallest running back right up the middle while your oline has been getting destroyed all day. Not to mention, the qb run has been working all day. At minimum get a big back in the game or go under center and sneak it for 8 inches. Go wildcat and make it one on one.

All around it is terrible. No adjustments on defense yesterday. The middle of the field was wide open all day. Pitt did what they wanted when they wanted for the most part, outside of the first quarter.

The best defensive call was the corner blitz where Mr. Burrell came up with the clutch PBU. Theo can’t over run that from an execution stand point and should of had a sack.

Fans have been doing their best to build a program up when the rest of the university wasn’t committed to winning. Apathy tends to set in when teams lose for more than a decade and can’t beat their rivals. It was a beautiful day with COVID concerns lingering

This is craziness Cat. SC needed a last second field to beat East Carolina. We will throttle them. I’m not so sure we beat anyone other than SC and Vandy though in SEC play. I think Kentucky and Mizzou will be tough games that could go either way.
We can lose to anyone with Hooker at QB. Teams will start making him throw.

Disagree it was fun in that stadium yesterday. A lot more fun than it was sitting at home. We were competitive and going blow for blow which hasn’t happened here in a while.

All my friends are either Alabama, Ohio State or Florida fans. So it really sucks for me. I hear the same #$%^ every year from them. Why do you even waste your time watching them play? I'm like I don't know man. It's like a drug I can't escape from. I know we suck yet here I am every year watching us suck. I keep telling myself, we gonna get better but I've been telling myself that since 2009.
