ExactlyIt's also questionable how poorly he played in those games.
UGA? Sure. #1 defense in the last decade. Still wasn't awful - 24/37 for 244. 6.6 ypa and 125 qbr 1 td/1 int. That was his worst all season. Understandable.
***caveat*** ONLY Alabama had a better QBR vs UGA all season. Some Heisman winner...
Vs Bama and Purdue? He had 181 QBRs...8 TD/1 Int lolol. Kid averaged over 10 YPA vs Bama. Who last did that?! 9.2 ypa vs Purdue...5 tds/0 int lol. Did he miss a few at times? Sure, but he nailed many more. Selective memory (Q2) iyam.
Pitt was his first real experience and he had a 168 qbr. The pick sucked, but one of only THREE all season. Bad timing, but man how picky can we get?!
What I said was absolute truthOf course. That's the point of the question. Wanted discussion. But some people just cannot handle criticisms of the QB. It's weird.
You have perfectly normal reactions like these:
to name a few. And then you have people losing their minds like these
Do you not think the latter completely overreacted to a simple question meant to bring discussion? I mean good grief
Depends on pay I’d guess. Fox sports owns it . Them and NBC are televising it.Any player worth his weight would probably laugh at playing for a brand new/unknown entity and attending an online university. They want the glory, the attention, exposure, etc.
For lower level recruits...they won't have any chance of making a roster.
I would guess the USFL is filled with flamed out veterans, new UDFA guys, etc. I doubt any HS recruits could make a team, except for the best, where they can make more in NiL and with all the traditional advantages (like not playing in a league that might collapse at any time).
That said, I could see some 2nd-4th year players giving it a go before their eligibility is up, with the opportunity to graduate from lol university.
I know...I'm not mad at him, I just think it was dumb to try and start a negative narrative about Hooker. The man has vastly outplayed expectations allready...everything he does is gravy. He doesn't deserve potshots.I think initially he just wanted to open up a discussion because it’s pretty much the off-season, (I don’t give a crap about the NCG). It just backfired on bass.
Look at his tag line. I might be wrong, but I don’t think he meant it as a potshot. Just a plain discussion.I know...I'm not mad at him, I just think it was dumb to try and start a negative narrative about Hooker. Given how close that game was, a really cool feat. But the myth far outweighs reality. He only made a few left handed jumpshots. The other "left handed shots" were layups and short hooks.
I'd coach the same. Just put in 2nd string, 3rd string, 4th string, let them play. If they execute and continue scoring, good for them.I’m as competitive as the next guy. I have coached my son for 5 years now. I will say that if my team was up 50-4, I would coach a little differently and find ways to slow the game down. Has nothing to do with being soft IMO. But that’s just me.
