It's screwed up on both sides. The winning team is being taught that absolutely dominating your competition is bad.

I'd be fired if I worked up there. I'd be teaching them to never let up, beat them by 500 if they let you, because someone else will try to beat you the same way. Never stop, no matter what you're competing in or who you're competing against. . .

I’m as competitive as the next guy. I have coached my son for 5 years now. I will say that if my team was up 50-4, I would coach a little differently and find ways to slow the game down. Has nothing to do with being soft IMO. But that’s just me.

Why not give a few benefits, like recruiting updates or something small? I guarantee they could raise just as much money with a small option as they will be able to with these gigantic amounts. Seriously, who can really afford to give $24k a year to put towards buying recruits? Mainly the mid-tier to upper tier boosters who are already donating large amounts of money to TN.

They apparently have a lot of buyin with said large boosters.

jmo but I'd say some were already giving to bagmen. And many more would rather give to good players, and legally, than the same ole facilities and blahblahblah. Boosters want to win.

The NCAA can't (and never should have) tell SAs how, when, or for how much they can earn money of their own volition.

That's garbage...they have had a chokehold on the old under the table bagman game, nobody else was allowed to get away with it while the NCAA and SEC turn a blind eye and allowed Bama and a few other to get away with it...but now all these others can start to do it legally...A&M was just the most aggressive in understanding this new landscape and exploiting it.

From now on it will just be a slightly expanded group of insane spenders that will profit
but that group still does not include us...yet.

I am sorry but I am not donating anything to NIL. The powers that be have bled the fans dry over many years. Coaches are making $9 million per year. Tickets cost more and more. Just not going to do it, sorry.

Any player worth his weight would probably laugh at playing for a brand new/unknown entity and attending an online university. They want the glory, the attention, exposure, etc.

For lower level recruits...they won't have any chance of making a roster.

I would guess the USFL is filled with flamed out veterans, new UDFA guys, etc. I doubt any HS recruits could make a team, except for the best, where they can make more in NiL and with all the traditional advantages (like not playing in a league that might collapse at any time).

That said, I could see some 2nd-4th year players giving it a go before their eligibility is up, with the opportunity to graduate from lol university.
