This made me think of old man @BaldBiker .

Werent there 3 finalists? Why not just make them all winners? Joke of an award. Still he deserved recognition, for sure.

The 3rd was Malzahn at UCF so Heupel's old team and his new one yet he shares the award with Beamer because like it or not South Carolina was just as much of a wreck as we were. The main difference is SC got breaks to help them in the w-l column that helped them to a 7 win (including bowl) season whereas we had bad luck in the games that could've been Ws that capped us at a 7 win season.

Conjecture CAN go both ways. You’re thing is nega and by the percentages you’re likely wrong as often as right like most anyone… So, here is the positive possibility on our case to win the East ‘22:
Offense:
1. Our O doesn’t require a dominating O Line to score points. Proven this last season.
2. We have the best returning QB
3. We basically have co-starters returning at RB and 2 good recruits that can contribute if ready
4. We have the best returning Receiver and plug and play returnees
Defense: It was year one in a totally different system.
1. They never gave up, not one single game… been awhile
2. We return our starting LB’s, they will be better as it was their 1st year as full time starters at a new position and we will have more experienced depth. Juwan Mitchell will surprise people next season.
3. 3/5’s of our starting DB’s. Everyone was on Burrell’s case after the bowl but he was right in coverage, just didn’t turn for the ball. Another year will help. As for the safeties, they will basically be 3 year starters. Warrior came in with big expectations, didn’t live up for several years, then balled out his last year. Even though he was slow. It is entirely possible these guys do too… Slaughter, Hadden, and Charles have another year of experience to take over and / or add depth. They had flashes last year.
4. We may see Thomas dominate on the DL. Bumphus has flashed and could be really good if healthy. Young and Barron will be a year improved.
5. UGA will be in hangover mode. Wait and see. They are also losing significant contribution to the draft and depth transfers. We are just better than Mizzou, USCjr, and Kentucky. Florida has an all new roster and system. It will take a bit for things to click for them if at all.
It is possible to see positives and possible to win the East. That’s why they play the games…
#2 on your offense list is a big question. Yes, his stats are pretty but Hooker has a long ways to go. He hit guys schemed open all year last year which is fine, but he didnt actually make tight window throws last year. Hes not terrible by any means but hes not a star either.

We haven't been developing players for years. This will be a dangerous team.

Another honest question. In what game or what particular throw did Hooker do something that gives all this confidence in him? He made the throws that were there I'm not trying to take anything away from him, but most of the plays made were because the recievers were schemed wide open, or tempo and the DB just got burnt. When did he throw guys open or hit a guy in tight coverage, the big throws that need to be made in order to beat some of the better teams on our schedule? Honestly not trolling just trying to understand what others saw

We definitely know. For some reason, no one else seems to know. I am sure it’s because we lost to early season gators and they beat coach is getting fired gators.

You're probably right. Maybe losing the bowl game weighed in as well since it optically gave us the same record.

Schedule wise, we played the two best teams in the West and they played Texas A&M and Auburn. OOC was probably about the same as we both played one good team. Our bowl game was tougher. I'd argue we looked a lot better in our losses and wins than they did as well. When you're squeaking by Vandy, East Carolina, and Troy that doesn't scream first year coach of the year to me. And we took them to the woodshed when we actually played.

Not sure how there's any argument for Beamer.

Or, hear me out….maybe there aren’t any self-sanctions to detail yet???

This is where I am…we self imposed 30 transfers. Played down by 15 scholarship players for 2021.

That’s absolutely enough. Tell the ncaa that the admin was going to self impose 5 per year for 3 years. The coaches opted for 15 in one year because no one still here perpetrated any of the offenses. No need to punish the compliant players coaches and fans. 😇

Oh, and de1conley has been issued a lifetime ban from any and every university. Tell the ncaa and SEC offices that if they follow cornbread and this individual’s history, they will uncover issues at every stop. Suddenly they will feel that enough has been done and issue statements exonerating Tennessee from any more punishment. (Or bama and uga will face significant investigations….) 😈

Now if we can just get @LA Vol And @Freak to make a PSA in regards to this, then we can put this behind us. If @LA Vol just forwards this to AD DW (maybe DW isn’t as conniving as I/we) 15-0 🤠

Making the throws that were there and dudes being consistently open are two things that were a hell of a lot better than we've had in recent years lol. I'd certainly take what HH gave us over what we had the few years before that.

I'm not trying to say he sucks or did bad at all. I remember a few weeks ago Bass came in here and asked if Hooker had issues in big games. I dont think that's that's case at all, I think those teams are just better equipped to take care of his short comings. Hooker is a fine college QB that's going to win you 8 or so games but he's just not gonna get you over the hump imo.
