GT sucks and has a sitting duck at HC so I don't blame him.

Kennesaw State??? Why would he go directly to FCS

I understand not going FCS, but there are some FCS programs that are probably better than UNLV. UNLV has had 3 bowl eligible seasons since 1995. Only 7 seasons in 27 years with more than 4 wins. Just not a good program.

I’d like to see some our fans eat crow when they acted like this kid was going to transfer to Bama, Florida, and Georgia and pass all over us…
Save some bird for the Maurer Handler who predicted the same for his boy…and now only posts in the Politics Forum. 😎

Better QBs entered the portal. I’d venture to say he had no idea he would fall that far otherwise he would have stuck around at TN.
Maybe. But Darnell Washington may transfer there. That's not because he isn't a good TE or because there are other better TE's in the portal. All of us would be thrilled to have him here. Not sure it's that simple.

Do you still think he should’ve been our starting QB
He was 3rd string at best here
No. I think Hendon Hooker should have been our starter and that became obvious when he started against Mizzou. He looked like garbage before then, but he took huge leaps under Heupel.

My only statements about HB have been that it isn't fair to judge him on the 2020 season in that offense and under those conditions and that we don't know what he is yet. We still don't. We'll find out how good he is or isn't at UNLV.

Kid probably had some local P5 offers to compete but his clock is ticking and likely wanted a promised starting position. Don't blame him.

True. If your good enough QB the NFL will find you no matter what school you are at so might as well go where your guaranteed to start. I think it’s a smart move. Realize your weakness and go to a conference less capable of exploiting them. Slow release and slow feet are his weakness. Similar to Nate Peterman get somewhere where you gain a split second more time that can take you from looking like a goofy test dummy and ball flopping in air to a solid QB in conference with less explosive DL and edge rushers.

The Defense reminds me of an old golf joke:

Joe Am: "Hey Pro. Why do I slice every drive?"
Pro: "Loft."

Joe Am: "Hey Pro. Why do I top my iron shots?"
Pro: "Loft."

Joe Am: "Hey Pro. Why do I shank every pitch shot?"
Pro: "Loft."

Joe Am: "Hey Pro. How can 'Loft' be the issue for everything?"
Pro: "Lack Of Fu&*ing Talent."

Hey, I resemble this remark. This joke was made for me…my first name is actually Joe. 😳

I got you

On December 19, 1813, at age 19 Cornelius "Commodore" Vanderbilt married his first cousin, Sophia Johnson.

They had 13 children together: Phebe in 1814, Ethelinda in 1817, Eliza in 1819, William in 1821, Emily in 1823, Sophia in 1825, Maria in 1827, Frances in 1828, Cornelius Jeremiah in 1830, George in 1832 (who died in 1836), Mary, in 1834, Catherine in 1836, and another son named George in 1839.

Following his wife Sophia's death in 1868, Vanderbilt went to Canada. On August 21, 1869, in London, Ontario, he married a cousin from Mobile, Alabama, with the name — unusual for a woman — of Frank Armstrong Crawford.

Just some history anytime you come across a Vandy fan that calls our fanbase inbreds.

I'm not trying to say he sucks or did bad at all. I remember a few weeks ago Bass came in here and asked if Hooker had issues in big games. I dont think that's that's case at all, I think those teams are just better equipped to take care of his short comings. Hooker is a fine college QB that's going to win you 8 or so games but he's just not gonna get you over the hump imo.

There are maybe ten guys in college who are above the bar you are setting for Hooker.

I get the criticism but let’s not pretend that being a proficient, consistent quarterback in the Power 5 is common.

Bray and Dobbs could probably be lumped in with Hooker in terms of their abilities to will their respective teams to win and those three guys are far above the next tier of QBs at UT over the past 20ish years.
