This Auburn teams is also a bit different than year's past, they don't rely on the 3 ball much. We really gotta make them beat us in the half court and not foul while doing it.

It all depends on the refs and if our guys are on, mostly the refs, they totally mangled that Arky game by totally taking away the drive, thus forcing us to shoot better, if we had been on, we would have won, but by forcing us to be one dimensional, and us failing in that one dimension they basically gave Arky the game.

We are not a consistently good shooting team, and when we go into a funk, literally every guy on the team goes into a funk at the same time, it is one of the weirdest things I have ever seen.

True that.

One thing about Auburn that has been of interest to me. Their two main guards aren't big, KD Johnson is 6'1" and Green is 5'11" so it may be the first matchup we've had where the opponent's guards aren't a good bit bigger than KC/ZZ.

SEC Bracketology: Pretty crazy how the Top 4 in the SEC are still kind of up in the air at this point. Arkansas gets UK at home and we get Auburn and Arkansas at home.

I think at this point, even if we beat Auburn Saturday they're locked unless they drop a game they shouldn't. I don't see them losing to the rest of their schedule. I don't foresee UK beating Arkansas on the road, and I think we beat Arkansas at home.

So I think the final standings will look like:
1 Auburn (15-3)
2 Tennessee (14-4)
3 Kentucky (14-4)
4 Arkansas (13-5)
OR
1 Auburn (16-2)
2 Kentucky (14-4)
3 Tennessee (13-5)
4 Arkansas (13-5)

If Kentucky beats Arkansas then they won't be worse than 2. If we beat Auburn and Arkansas we won't be worse than 3.

I don't want us to be 4, because that probably sets us up for a matchup with Alabama in the quarters. 2 or 3 and it's a likely semifinal against Kentucky.

Most of our big wins seem to happen when JJJ has a good game and scores in double digits, which gives us a 3rd and or 4th scoring option outside of our notable guards.

Right now, Tennessee basketball is really two teams: at home and away/neutral site. Auburn has to face the "at home" team, and Tennessee should have the upper hand. Auburn can be just as inconsistent as we are, and they also live and die by the 3.

Looking back at a couple of our close losses, some due to poor refs, really could have changed things... TX and TXtech should have been W's...
Hopefully we won't slip past a 4 seed and are ready to make a run. Not sure what to think about the SEC tourney this year....

I’ll believe it when I see it to when Barnes beats Pearl. It’s going to be interesting matchup. Auburn has big advantage inside and we have the advantage at the guard spot. We need Fulky to be Arizona/Ky Fulky
