Yes, their guards think that they are studs and they are not. I was cheering every time Green jacked up one of his 3s.

I agree that our guys have good basketball IQ and can adjust as the game flows, but they don't always do it----check the Arkansas game with the charges.

I agree - they did not adjust well at Arky. I think it was partially because the same type calls were not made against Arky. That changed the flow of the game. When one team is allowed to drive and not get undercut by blocks with legit charges not called, while the other is not, one team is at a disadvantage on offense as well as defense.

Of course we know the answer is to have competent officials make the calls the same and in accordance with the rules, which was my qualifier in the post. Sometimes a bad game is just a bad game. TTU, UK there, and Texas all come to mind. I felt like CRB either did not adjust his guys well or the guys did not do what he wanted to beat both Arky and the officials. We saw that adjustment happen the right way yesterday.

I hope and believe they will run Arky out of TBA next week.

I can see this. Auburn guard play is not like it was in their final four run. Tourney is when you get exposed for poor point guard play. Bruce is good enough coach I think to hide it into 2nd weekend because of his defense but not sure about beyond that.

For us it all depends on the refs. Our D and guard play are good enough to make a run, but if they call a bunch of questionable fouls on us like the Arky game it is hard to win.

Oh it was nostalgic and definitely get you out of your seat. I think it lowered the bar in a couple of areas that opens pandora's box. I won't get into on this board.

Agree - I took my 11 year old g-daughter out of the room on some pretext but we still ended up with her asking questions and me ”sharing wisdom” as she calls it.

I don’t know about that….. that team is really good and that program has finished runner up twice and been to two elite eights in the past 5-7 years… they have earned the voters respect.

Been to St. Mary’s a few years ago. Caught a basketball game. Their gym reminded me of a high school gym. On the positive side, the campus and its setting were awesome.

I’m pretty sure it was called on Vescovi just the announcers called it wrong on air.
Not that it makes it any better. The choke hold on aidoo was another.

That very well maybe the case. I wasn’t at the game to say for sure just that others that were said they announced the foul on Vescovi but broadcast announcers said Fulkerson.
Either way it’s a pretty crappy call in my opinion.

Watching the game again and the pro-Auburn slurping, which was really aggravating during the game, is infuriating...we are absolutely suffocating them late in the second half, and not a word about how great our team defense is, after earlier joygasming Auburns defense..


The transcript so far the last five minutes while we were clawing back from a 10-11 point deficit

Meanwhile...Smith is 6-15, and AU can barely get him the ball without turning it over because our defense is smothering the livin out of them...
