HaHa.........

He took a spot from a young kid who actually deserved a chance to live out a dream of playing college golf.

EDIT: not just my opinion. It's a fact!

"Smith had the sixth-best score out of six players on his team. The Aggies finished 11th in the 13-team field, 57 shots off the pace set by tournament champion Elon. "

I found this from a PGA tour article from his debut lol.

Some good ones there and have seen several of those multiple times. It still doesn't mean that Morgan Wallen can't sing or write a song.

As for Isbell, was one of my favorites and had seen multiple times. Threw away all of my shirts and will NEVER listen to him again. Tremendous song writer but a complete arrogant blow hard. I don't do politics with my music.

I can respect that, but typically people who say this (not you specifically) mean they don't do politics DIFFERENT from their own views with their music.

I realize that no one else is going to line up with me 100% on my political or religious views...or any views for that matter. So ultimately I just take things at face value, I like a certain actor for his/her acting then I watch 'em. If I like a certain player for their skillset I watch 'em, if I like a certain musician for their music I listen. Don't debate or care about nothing else life is too short to even waste energy on boycotting for me at this point lol

Now...I listen to Isbell less now than I did, or I'll say I don't listen to his newer stuff. Mostly because I preferred him solo without the band. I'm the same way with Childers and other artist I like, adding a band is a great way to ruin what made ya if you're a strong lyricist with a powerful voice. Morgan Wade is another one, I don't need anything but her singing and playing guitar everything else added is a distraction to me.

Doesnt he just hang out at his restaurant all day? Livin' off that SC fame, hanging with washed up celebs in the low country. Prob taking advantage of his local fame and the 100-1 girl to guy ratio.

I was a Hootie fan back in the day (my high school years), and my brother saw them play at the New Daisy on Beale Street before they made it big. Still has name recognition and plays. He played on the beach last summer on the Isle of Palms for a charity concert for medical personnel after the pandemic. I had been there 10 days prior but had to get home to work. Would have tried to go.

Some of y'all aren't mad that an artist you like is openly political, you're mad that the politics don't resonate with your own.

That's fine, but just call it what it is. There are loads of artists who are very openly political both now and for the last century. That's true for country music especially.

I've basically gotten to the point of not caring at all. Do I like the song/your music? Yes? I'll listen. Don't care if openly political or not (like Dolly) - I respect the choice to be either way. I also don't care which nutty position you fall on unless it's truly, insanely nutty. I don't change the song when Kid Rock comes on because he's openly conservative, I turn it off because his music sucks (cept that one with Sheryl Crow - that's a whole vibe). At the same time I don't avoid listening to Eminem because he's liberal. It's music, we are supposed to enjoy it. Same with movies - I don't avoid watching something that has an actor/actress I have differing views from. Jmo

I see it this way-I have some dear, dear friends who don’t agree with me politically. But they are great people, and that doesn’t effect our relationship. There are certainly some people who might turn me off with their actions, but for the most part, I enjoy the entertainment and artistry.

To be fair to Dylan or Secor,

The narrator IS leaving Philly and heading west.

If you include a comma, it makes sense. If you met a guy in Philly and he said he was heading west, that makes sense. Cumberland Gap and JC sounds more like a general region (west) he's headed toward. Otherwise he'd be telling the narrator he's heading west from the Cumberland Gap, which he's currently nowhere near, and so would make zero sense.

"I caught a trucker out of Philly, had a nice long toke. But he's a-headin' west, from the Cumberland Gap to Johnson City, Tennessee"
It is dumb..

No, No, No You are doing it wrong

Doing it right is buying coffee straight from the source, where they roast it and immediately ship it. I get mine shipped from pergamino coffee in Colombia. Good price for top quality. Still less than buying fast food coffee or Starbucks.

Whole bean, grind just before use, french press or pour over. 12 grams of water per 1 gram of coffee.

Now THAT'S a good bean.

He may be a standup guy. I was never nor am I now a fan of his music. Do not care for Jimmy Buffet, Zach whomever Toby Keith et al. Just not my cup of tea.

I enjoy suds as much as the next guy just dont want my music to be directly associated.

I remember my kids having something similar and it was hand/foot/mouth. I recall my son being sort of lethargic, we'd give him children's motren and it would come down. He then would become more active until a few hours later and his fever would return.
My grandson had the same last year.

If by "country artist", you mean the auto tuned pop BS that nASSville is pawning off as country, then yeah. Tell me the last time you heard a Jamey Johnson song on country radio. Tell me the last time you heard a Cody Jinks song other than "Loud and Heavy" (still blows my mind that they actually played it some) on "country" radio. I can keep going......
Tell me you’ve never listened to Morgan Wallen without telling me. He doesn’t do auto tune.

And as ACVol mentioned, he’s a Gibbs product and a huge UT fan, so he’s alright in my book.
