One of the positives of todays technology is that artists can record on their own, bypassing the studio machine, and build grass roots following. There’s some really good music out there if you’re willing to search a little.Really liking this strain that has come out the shadows the last 15 years, the GAF of these artists is really low, which may be inversely proportional to talent
Was surprised that Simpson mentioned turtles all the way down, most backcountry folk won't get that
Neat to think about how quantum mechanics proved it couldn't be turtles all the way down, an infinite regress
Cool that these topics on some other country boys minds
Okay smart***......
Cody Jinks
Tyler Childers
Jason Isbell (yes, the same one that your boy wiped his *** with one of his songs)
Matt Mason
Whiskey Myers
Jamey Johnson
Chris Stapleton
Colter Wall
Sturgill Simpson
Turnpike Troubadors
There's ten easy ones off the top of my head who make your boy sound like William Hung.
Larry Fleet
Arlo McKinley
Joel Adam Russell
Morgan Wade
Zach Bryan
Cole Chaney
Drayton Farley
Maggie Rogers
Brandi Carlile
The Lone Bellow
Jamestown Revival
Billy Strings
Marcus King
Zac Brown Band (surprised not already mentioned)
Trampled by Turtles
The Damn Quails
Brent Cobb
Hayes Carll
So much good non radio played Americana/Country music out there.
Some good ones there and have seen several of those multiple times. It still doesn't mean that Morgan Wallen can't sing or write a song.
As for Isbell, was one of my favorites and had seen multiple times. Threw away all of my shirts and will NEVER listen to him again. Tremendous song writer but a complete arrogant blow hard. I don't do politics with my music.
All of those are better musically than Morgan but I know him personally and he’s a great guy.Okay smart***......

Proved me wrong about what? If you really think Wallen is racist because of a word he said while playing around with a friend in his 20’s, you come from a different world than me.Bro, you are super duper BIG mad because I proved you wrong and ain't all ERMAGHERD MERGERN WALLERN, ain't ya.......
(*for the record, that's not a question, it's an observation.*)
Unfortunately, same here. Saw him multiple times at the Ryman and loved it, had all his stuff. However, turned me off completely when he went in the deep end. I'm with you, don't care what your politics are, but don't beat me over the head. Some good ones there and have seen several of those multiple times. Doesnt he just hang out at his restaurant all day? Livin' off that SC fame, hanging with washed up celebs in the low country. Prob taking advantage of his local fame and the 100-1 girl to guy ratio.Rucker needs professional help. With a marriage he blew up and living in a bottle, he's become a bad country song.
The Johnson City line in that song has always bugged me to no endFWIW - some of you need to do a bit more research on Wagon Wheel. Saw a documentary on it. Dylan wrote and recorded the chorus lyrics and melody. He named it Rock Me Mama.
Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show wrote the verses 25 years later. One of his band mates had found a crappy bootleg copy of Dylan's recording. Sketch had Dylan check it out and co-author before they released it with Old Crow in 2004. It was later covered by others including Rucker.
The funny part is Johnson City is east of the Cumberland Gap, not west.
