The kids should get out ahead of this
I’m sure the collectives they have signed with are ahead of this and will fight this. The genie can’t be put back in the bottle. Surely, they saw this coming when NIL was first announced and waiting until now to make a show about doing something?

The article mentioned that the original "intent" of NIL was to allow athletes to get sponsored (presumedly for small $$$ contracts) by local mom and pop businesses. The argument seems to be that NIL intent was never to allow the athletes to make big dollars by collective regional marketing companies. So, there is a push to blanket-assign these marketing directives/collectives as "boosters".

I'm not sure how they will defend that "intent" before the courts--i.e. that they should have the right to dictate who athletes can make $$$ from for their NIL, and how much. And similarly, I'm not sure how well the "booster" designation would hold up in court if the designation had such ulterior motives.

oh eff off.

@butchna which book should I start off with in Bosch/Connelly series?
I started with Blood Work. It introduced Harry Bosch but he wasn’t the main character. Damn good book that became a Clint Eastwood movie (not as good). The first full Bosch novel was Black Echo and it stands as the best imo…tho many come close. Get past that one not fully bought in and it prolly isn’t for you. Connelly’s my favorite author with John Sandford next in line.

I get all that, but surely if they wanted to challenge it, should have at the beginning of NIL. This just smells of effort to do something to satisfy the premise that they are actually doing something. Can’t undo a pregnancy for a girl nine months later.

Worst case for us is the NCAA tries to declare Nico's contract and all other deals Spyre has signed invalid.
Not a snowballs chance in Haiti of that. The last place the NCAA wants to be is back in the courtroom. They won’t dare go there. What about everybody else and their deals like the Aggies and many others. GBO!

What's wrong with that? 😅 It's relaxing and 0% chance of missing the dartboard. Stand if at home and in a hurry or in public, otherwise give me a rest off my feet.

And if it's dark, middle of the night, I'll keep my eyes closed the entire way to the bathroom, keep the light off, and sit to pee. Then go back to bed, no exposure to light and right back to bed. This is the way.
