Sorry, Weezer! May you have a peaceful night tonight!Yesterday's trip to Nashville left me in all kinds of pain. Tried to sleep last night, but pain kept waking me up. Finally fell into a good sleep this AM and slept all day. Brain is all kind of foggy ATM. Other than Bru's commitment and the baseball game, any news of significance today?
Someone in RF said that the other day. I feel bad, I was definitely an a** to him back in the day
Sorry if already posted but Addison would definitely be a take.
Jordan Addison transfer: Pros and cons as star WR mulls heading to USC, staying at Pitt, dark-horse suitors
Tennessee:
The Vols have been one of the most notorious players in NIL so far, and Addison should quickly become a target of their money cannon. Hendon Hooker played exceptionally well to close the 2021 season and there are snaps available and 1,000-yard receiver Cedric Tillman is back, so adding Addison would make a dangerous combo. The one downside is offensive structure; Josh Heupel's spread offense isn't known for preparing players for NFL routes.
I was waiting to see who was going to comment on that! What in the whole wide world?
I'm guessing this writer didn't do his homework and is just spouting his bias. The fact is Josh Heupel has been a head coach for 4 years and in that time the NFL has drafted 4 of his wide receivers on his watch and likely will be taking more in the drafts to come. smh.
Not a snowballs chance in Haiti of that. The last place the NCAA wants to be is back in the courtroom. They won’t dare go there. What about everybody else and their deals like the Aggies and many others. GBO!
Within the coming weeks, the NCAA plans to crack down on boosters who are funding name, image and likeness payments to athletes, payments the association says are violations of long-standing NCAA rules. NCAA Council chairman Shane Lyons told CBS Sports the association's ruling body is motivated to push back against what is becoming a burgeoning scandal of disguised "pay for play" in college athletics.
"How are they having conversations [with athletes]? They're boosters," Lyons said Tuesday during the Fiesta Summit, a series of conference spring meetings. "We've never let boosters be involved in the recruiting process. Where did it go off the tracks? … The collectives are boosters."
. . .
Per NCAA rules, boosters are not allowed to pay players directly or be part of a university's recruiting process. The NCAA defines boosters as "representatives of a school's athletic interests".
Once a person is designated as such a representative, they "retain that identity forever," according to the NCAA. In the past, the NCAA has used a broad interpretation of that definition to penalize schools.
"The guidance [from the NCAA] is, 'You're in violation of the rules because the rules haven't changed,'" said Lyons, who is also the West Virginia athletic director.
I think we're ahead of this.Another Article...

The NCAA derives its power from its member schools. The majority of the top schools are engaging in the "collective" model. The NCAA may attempt to change things, but when it comes to punishment, I doubt anything happens. Too many schools are using this model. And SCOTUS is the one that opened the door. So I just don't see much, other than maybe some reform, to come from this.Another Article...
