Not sure how well it works but I’ve considered getting a swing rail for my son.

Have one for my sons. Actually works well for such a simple thing. Teaches them to take the knob to the ball, keep their hands in, and have lag in their swing. It frustrates the heck out of them when they 1st use it but eventually they come around if they don't give up.

On one hand, our collective is ahead of the game by having a good portion be crowd-funded rather than booster-funded. Unless they want to say the collective as an entity is a booster. I'm not sure how crowd-funding can skirt the rules vs booster-funding. Does that make every member of the crowd a booster? If Mayfield gives money to the university annually then signs John Fulkerson to a contract, is Mayfield as a company a booster and therefore can't participate in NIL? That seems to defeat the entire purpose of NIL, unless they want to crack down to where NIL can only be athletes selling their own merch and autographs and making public appearances.

The "we never let" boosters be involved before comment is hilarious. I know Butch players/recruits that used to get picked up in yachts in Nashville for a day on the water where they'd give them bags of cash. And I KNOW we aren't the only program that's been doing that stuff.

This is old and I don't know any new techniques but have you tried having him put the knob of the bat on his belly and the end against the wall. After he does that don't let home move but make him get in his stance then swing the bat. If he has a good swing the bat won't hit the wall.
If he has a bad swing, learn to repair drywall.

Forgot to add go to Lowe’s and buy sheet rock pudy.

Assumed he already had that…
I prefer blades. Show it to the potential victim and describe how knives are so much more personal and satisfying than guns. Especially when it comes to teaching important life and dating lessons. 😎
I could use the Powhatan Indian methods described by the men in Jamestown. Use mussel shells to remove each joint on each digit one at a time. Then use the shell to cut the skin from the face. Then slowly gut the victim (tied to a tree/pole) and leave those guts to hang exposed as they slowly succumb to infection and wild animals consuming their innards.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the single season record for home runs by a team is 188 by the 1997 LSU team. If that’s correct, that’s a lot of damn home runs.
Those were the old bats.

When all is said and done, we will hold the BBCOR era record for home runs.

That escalated quickly.

I second this. Did this all the time as a kid. Not sure how well it taught but path but it taught me to unload and uncoil at just the right time, keeping my hands in front and letting the bat head develop momentum.

@volbeast33 how old of a kid we talking about? Swinging level isn’t such a bad thing to start out with if he’s like 7-9, you can teach launch angle and all that other stuff later when they have the strength to drive a ball in the gap.

This guy talks about proper posture driving the bat path. I too see kids stand up straight up rather than “butt out, chest forward” never thought about that creating the right path but he’s right. Really seems like if he’s got that posture and he learns to bend that back leg it will naturally take the bat along the right path.

Have to assume they're still evaluating players, looking for guys that fit our system. If a player can't come in and contribute, no reason to take him. It just sucks that there doesn't seem to be any more defensive players they're currently interested in. I thought for sure we'd bring in at least one LB and one true CB. Turrentine and Walker seem more like safeties than true CBs. And I know they were looking at Edge players previously, but maybe they just don't see anyone else they like? The portal has been very frustrating.
I choose to look at this in the opposite frame of reference..... our defense has improved so much that there is no need to get more help.

The bold was my take from the article. And that designation of "booster" seems completely arbitrary, and in pursuit of a predetermined goal--stop this high-$$$ NIL, tie the money to colleges, and level the "playing field" between colleges/regions.

I seem to remember a veiled threat of anti-trust measures by the SC the last time the NCAA was in front of them. Something like the above might get them dismantled on such grounds if they tried it.

So, it's not a story of: "Boosters have always been involved." It's a matter of "You'd better well defend your reasoning for blanket-labeling organizations as such, and it'd better not be an excuse to get in players' pocketbooks and artificially limit what the SC has already permitted."

Too much. Just grip it and rip it.

We should hang out

We know where the push for limiting NIL is originating, Little Nicky. We need to let every recruit know that $10mil Nick wants to limit what they can make. Sir bowl cut as well.
I doubt Little Nicky is pushing that hard. If they start looking at NIL deals, they'll have to look into his QB that he openly bragged about making big coin in NIL. Where do you think that money's coming from? Bama boosters.

I know you're a big baseball guy. Did you coach any youth baseball?

My husband and I are coaches of our son's team. Our defense is outstanding, probably best in the league. But our offense is driving me crazy. We have tried different lineups but have several inconsistent hitters and never know who's going to have an on or off day. I was hoping for some lineup advice if I give you a few metrics?

He's been on record as saying the NCAA needs to reel it in. I'd say he's been pushing for it pretty hard. His unfair advantage is slipping through his fingers and he knows it.
