A lot of what has been said, written, and filmed about Cobb being horrible (from being a massive prick to everyone, to being a monster racist, etc), the majority of it came from Al Stump's bios of him...bios that the early 90's movie was based on.

A great bit of it has now been disputed, and outright rejected and disproved. Many now say that Stump exaggerated, and in some stories, outright made things up...he was banned from newspapers because of this.

I remember how I felt after watching the movie, and then reading excerpts from Stump...I, too, believed Cobb a monster. However, now...most, if not all, of what Stump wrote has been argued and disputed and discredited.

I didn't know if you knew any of this...the reason I asked. Now, with that being said, Stump very well could've hit the nail on the head, and Cobb was exactly how he said he was; just wanted to let you know that it all has been disputed and argued and discredited by many.

If it is not true, then Ty Cobb has probably been slandered worse than anybody else I can think of.

I always thought all that stuff was established and accepted as fact.
