If he doesn't deal with the injuries in Cincinnati he would be considered the undisputed best of all time. His numbers mostly untouchable.

We went to a game at GABP in 2007 after Junior had been in Cincy for awhile and had gone through a bunch of injuries. He had recovered a bit and it was one of his better seasons in the twilight years. But even then he had a hamstring issue. He had an error in the game because it was clear he just could not physically make the adjustment on a fly ball in RF along the foul line. He had hit a double earlier and limped into 2B, but wanted to keep playing. He just could not stay healthy, but refused the peds.

He still had like 30 HR's and 90+ RBI's that season.

Despite some of the usual stupids, most Cincy fans were disappointed along with him that the injuries derailed his time there. They loved him and his family. He was "The Kid", a local guy made good. But it was just so Cincy that they would take on the big super star contract with their small market and the guy would stay injured.

That is what worries me going into postseason play.

They are not pitching like they were for most of the season.

Just for perspective, they’ve given up 4 runs or less in 9 out of the last 12 SEC games dating back to the UF series on April 22. They gave up 8 runs in two games where one was tied heading into the 8th or 9th. Both of those teams are 4th and 6th in the RPI.

Honestly I think the adversity the baseball team is going thru now will pay dividends down the stretch. When the chips are down and your backs against the wall that's when you find out what your made of!These guys have had apple pie in the sky kinda living and earned every bit of it but Unfortunately we've seen what winning the season gets us most times yea not Jack sh*t usually lol...

I know...but you have to admit that they have been a lot shakier than they have been most of the season. I didn't imply that they had completely fallen apart.

Several guys seem to have had some issues with control lately. I say "seem" because I don't how the actual numbers shake out, but it seems like control issues have led to some of the higher run counts we've been seeing.
